Did they keep the soldiers in the dark because of secrecy concerns? This is really bad...
Wonder what the economic instability will do to Putin.
Russia can offset that by sanctioning western assets in Russia. For every western action, there is a Russian reaction. They haven't used their Trump card of cutting off gas yet, though the way things are going that will be coming. By cutting off Russian airspace, European airlines won't be able to compete with Asian ones for Europe-Asian flights. Russian oligarchs will invest in China and Asia instead of Europe.
With these measures, more than half of the Russian Central Bank reserves will be blocked.
This is what happens when you can't achieve air superiority. Your ground units get cooked by toy planes. Hugely disappointed in RuAF. Maybe I fell for their propaganda about the reforms they uptook many years back.
TASS is reporting that the numbers of tanks killed matches what the Ukrainians say. The deaths of Russian soldiers also match with the Ukrainian numbers more or less.
I'm kind of shocked.
The name, Tink-off, should be a clue!
There are already signs that the value of the rouble has tumbled. By Sunday evening, Russia’s Tinkoff Bank was buying dollars for 89 rubles and selling them for 154 roubles, nearly double the price just three weeks ago.
My Point if that if Western powers weren't ready to defend Ukraine, why they give them this false sense of hope? Why they economically supported the Pro-NATO Pro-Western elite inside that country? Why even consider the idea of Ukraine joining NATO or the EU, expanding NATO to Russia doorstep? You do have a point. Although I would say the Western powers are backing up the Ukrainians a lot with intelligence now beyond the token material support which I think has contributed to frustrating the Russians.
That said, I lean more in the camp that the US will intervene in the event Taiwan conflict. There's the human element psychologically that will be decisive factor behind any US intervention, imo.
I don’t know what secrecy they have now. US is probably monitoring all their troop movements with satellites and sending it to Zelensky. Also so many civilian videos with Russian troop movements. Western intelligence already predicted a Russian invasion.Did they keep the soldiers in the dark because of secrecy concerns? This is really bad...
What will you guys think if China abandons Russia because of the poor performance
I am wondering whether this whole thing started to offload Western Investment from Russian resources for free.Russia can offset that by sanctioning western assets in Russia. All this is going to lead to is massive economic damage to Europe and Russia, after both have already been significantly affected by COVID.
Russia will 100% be in China's camp now. Dreams of China and Russia fighting over Siberia are dead. Overpriced German cars and engineering products will be replaced by Chinese ones. Russia may even be ok with China taking back Mongolia, LOL.
I think it will depend on the timeframe (current to future). If Chinese capabilities become too overwhelming for the US then they may not even intervene. What I mean by that is China capable of keeping them out or bogging them down that it becomes a stalement while Taiwan gets captured. Then the US would be forced to make their own land invasion while China frees up assets used for Taiwan Area to repulse it or for a counter offensive.100% US will intervene, without US help, TW has zero chance and it would mean geopolitical death of the US empire
In the Post Peak Energy world, this is the right move for China... forget trade with EU, no more skimming the margins, its full internal circulation now in the new paradigm of negative sum games. Let EU collapse, cut off the gas. We have entered Squid Game Last Man Standing mode now, Xi just needs to play cards right to make sure China is the last one standingRussia can offset that by sanctioning western assets in Russia.
