"We’re going to demonstrate our values (killing people) across the world"

either directly or through a subcontractor

An imperial tragedy that has caused a slaughter of more than a quarter of a million, and millions of displaced people

... The pink-western commercial team wants to sell it to us as concern for the welfare of the people there ... And the blue-western commercial team wants to sell it to us by saying that to capture or eliminate 60-70 of al-Qaeda has taken 20 years, a trillion dollars and a tragedy that has sent more than a quarter of a million to hell ...

But they continue chatting with each other in their world of fantasies, deception and lies

The West Empire breathes lies, eats lies for breakfast, for lunch and for dinner and ...

regurgitates lies

The last nine Afghans incinerated

1: Zemaray, Interpreter
2: Naseer, Army officer
3: Zameer, Shopkeeper
4: Faisal, Student
5: Farzad, Student
6: Ayat, 2 years old
7: Sumaya, 2 years old
8: Armin, 4 years old
9: Binyamen, 3 years old

This is the ultimate form of preemptive strike — they can’t grow up to be terrorists if they don’t grow up at all.

I prefer they didn’t ban the films/television series just because an actor or actress violated the law. You can still enjoy someone’s work even if you don’t agree politically.
I don't know who that someone you meant, so I will say two alternatives.

1. If that someone is anybody else other than the "criminal" in the film production, then this someone is a collateral damage and bit unfair for him/her because of somebody else fault.

2. If you meant Zhao Wei by that someone, then the banning is nothing strange in common practice. For example, if someone embezzled a million, first the one million has to be recovered, on top of that the punishment is confiscating personal property which may very well be earned legally. The banning of film production is just that punishment regardless if the film itself is innocent or not.

Anyone from new Zealand here? Look at how they report this Zhao Wei story. Chinese "erasing" celebrity.

Here's a take on it from someone with a bit more knowledge.

Look at how Western media spins China's reining in of their corrupt and unscrupulous billionaires. ‍♂️

This Chinese celeb was a mistress to an infamous corrupted city Mayor, who transferred money to his personal driver when caught, hoping to reduce his sentence. This mistress then ran away with the driver who got the money and married him in Singapore.

She is a billionaire who made wealth by cheating in the share market via looting from small investors through fraudulent operations, inside jobs and shares manipulation. Her wealth grew from 60 million to 15 billion.

She is a traitorous billionaire who colluded with foreign anti-China powers, using their influence and power to laundry money for foreign organisation to feed the Fifth column armies within China.

She is also a Chinese actress who wore and glamorized the Japanese Imperial military flag. It is a symbol of the blood thirsty Japanese Imperial army during WWII who murdered millions of Chinese. Her act is tantamount to a Jew who wears a Nazi flag and idolise Hitler and the Nazi.

She is also a billionaire, who along with other billionaires, control Chinese social media. Much like how the Murdoch empire who monopolized Australia’s media industry to manipulate, censor and dominate public narratives and discourses.

She fueled anti-China sentiments, promoted tititytainment and low social moral spiritual media to drug and poison China's youths.

Yes, China doesn’t allow the formation of Wallstreet financial fraudsters, Murdoch Empire, Military Industrial Complex, Hollywood, Revolving door of Washington, Monsanto, etc etc. which people in the West are screaming about.

You can say that from a certain perspective - it is authoritarian and China's communism.

But this is the beauty of China's system.

And majority of the Chinese people are celebrating it - that their government is actually doing something about the wild exploitative growth of late-stage capitalism and corrupt unscrupulous billionaires.

China isn’t America. Chinese people are thankful that they live in a so-called "evil Commie country" where billionaires and exploitative capitalism are reined in and punished when they do wrong.

Meanwhile, the West can continue to celebrate their Wallstreet, Big Pharma and "Freedom of Speech" under the yoke of Murdoch and his ilk.
It was so strange to me that she was not banned at the time when the photo of her wearing Japanese wartime flag showed up. A much delayed punishment, but better than not coming.

Zhao Wei's embezzlement happened way before. Why take these steps now?

This isn’t about the flag dress or embezzlement. Those, as you both rightly point out, are old news.

As the saying goes, forgive but not forgotten, and that applies here to her past crimes. They were excused, but not forgotten.

Her cancelling is the result of the recent Warcrimes shrine visit, which Chinese official media have pretty much explicitly linked to her.

She might have mistakenly thought her old crimes are ancient history, but the fact is that she initially got a suspended sentence whereby she was let off as a warning. But now that she has shown her true colours, her new bill and old bill are now all being called in for settlement.
