This is not the fault of the IOC or the US. This is the fault of the IWF (international weightlifting federation) because they are run by old Soviets who dope and take big money to cover up doping. Basically, their stance is that doping is part of the sport and so is corruption. They were discovered, the former president Hungarian Tamas Ajan admits to taking millions in bribe the threatening everyone to be silent on his hiding hundreds of positive samples which he will not turn over to this day. The IOC gave weightlifting every chance to reform but in the recent meeting, they voted again not to reform. These old Soviet bastards ruined it and if weightlifting gets kicked out, it's all on them. However, there is currently a drive to form a new weightlifting federation to bypass them. China and the US are at the forefront of this effort. Americans actually want to improve weightlifting and keep it in the Olympics because Americans love watching the sport; they just suck at it is all...What are the chances of this happening? Weightlifting is a cash cow for Chinese athletes.... I hope it can be resolved!
Agree. I really don't want to complain about this. China can't say we want to be crowned the most athletic nation with the most gold medals but be bad at running, jumping and swimming. That's bullcrap. (But then again, it's also bullcrap when these Caucasian nations use black athletes to win.) Get better at these things or you don't deserve the crown.See, this is why you can't complain about too many events in swimming
WTF so turns out there is reason behind China getting robbed of that medal. A biased INDIAN Judge.A bit like today then. Clearly China was robbed of that gymnastic medal.
So all of their men and women are out of the singles events. They were talking big of defeating China in table tennis.Mina Ito is out of the Woman’s Single Table Tennis tournament. I am actually grateful that Japan won the mixed tournament. It actually made table tennis interesting. Usually not even a lot of Chinese people watch them.
