My fear is a new variant would finally render most vaccines useless.
Did anyone watch the piece on the Sinovac vaccine in Thailand on Aljazeera?
Youngsters/Young students are so easily influenced by propaganda news. They would demand that the Sinovac vaccine not be used on them when the only other vaccine Thailand is using is known to have serious blood clots problems, especially on younger people, although rare.
Except China and a few other countries, Western hegemony over youngsters have grown over the last two decades. Too many people just blindly accept anything from the West. FB, Youtube, google, twitter, and Instagram have made the jobs of CIA easy. Many of them probably still think China is a poor and backward country.Did anyone watch the piece on the Sinovac vaccine in Thailand on Aljazeera?

That would be the only way to have 2022 games if by then the situation remains.Japan had to ban all foreign (and domestic) spectators in 2020 Summer Olympics due to low vaccination rate in Japan and recent surges in case load.
On the other hand, China is likely to ban all foreign spectators in 2022 Winter Olympics, but allow domestic (vaccinated) spectators to attend the games, due to high rate of vaccination among domestic population. For overseas athletes, I think China will impose a 2-3 week quarantine upon arrival, daily COVID tests, and a Olympic Village Bubble (similar to the NBA bubble in Disney land) for the Winter athletes, they are not allowed to venture outside it.
Thoughts?
The Japanese are extremely careless, so I don't think they would even care about that as long as their games rake in cash. Personally, I think the Chinese athletes should just not go and cite Japan's reckless handling of Covid as their primary reason. That would be the only way to have 2022 games if by then the situation remains.
I also think that Chinese athletes have to be put in that bubble and later quarantined before letting out because they would have close contact with foreign athletes in the arena.
Tricky thing are the indoor games, the air is in close circulation.
The Japanese claimed they are cleaner than most countries, and their face masks are superior. The Japanese are supposed to be very diligent in practicing personal cleanliness. How come their vaccination rates are low, and they cannot fully control the covid-19 situation even right before the Olympics? The Japanese are extremely careless, so I don't think they would even care about that as long as their games rake in cash.
