As usual, the New York Times, the so-called "liberal media", was at its best in the subtle playing down of any Chinese achievement, in this case, China's 5th coronavirus vaccine, which was just approved for emergency use the other day.

Western media has propaganda polished to the highest degree. You can see it everywhere in these "trusted" media like NY Times, BBC, Reuters, Washington Post etc.

You can spot propaganda but It is difficult especially for westerners. You need to first check the media from each country involved, then learn the country's history, then check geopolitics (media is the long arm of the security apparatus), then interact with a country's people either in person or online. And after that you must have received deep education and be extremely good in critical thinking.

Congratulations, if someone is a westerner and has managed to do everything in this long and difficult to achieve list then he is mostly free from western propaganda

Would we be surprised the EU is up to another money-making scheme, like charging non-European airlines a pollution tax even if they didn't enter European airspace, where you can only enter the EU if you've taken an "EU only" vaccine. I could care less if Chinese are barred from going to Europe. In the US there's this mentality that people who can travel were of upper class. Today travel is so cheap it's not just for the rich that can travel but the essence of that mentality still exist but in reverse. When people see Chinese traveling in other countries, there's a resentment because it's assumed they're rich so that's why they can travel. Being richer than them is a crime by some. They're suppose to have more than Chinese in their hierarchy of things.

There's a romance among Westerners when it comes to travel for themselves. You can see in their movies where they're the oasis of civility among the primitives in another country. Chinese being around just ruins that picture. First it was the Japanese tourism stereotype. I remember an American actress who was a regular on the talk show circuit because at the time her show was popular among the critics. On these talk shows she would talk about her travels around the world. She said she was on a South Pacific island where she was scuba diving. She was romanticizing being underwater in the tropics and then the story took a turn where she was upset complaining that some Japanese tourists entered the scene and ruined it for her. Even the host was confused what was she complaining about when that's what people do at a tourist destination. Today you have people like the son of David and Victoria Beckham who posted pictures in his social media of Italy where there were no Chinese in the picture and ones that did suggesting Chinese presence ruined the look of Italy. Then you have news media personalities that tend to use romantic language describing the US or their own ancestral country of origin or of course in their travels especially Africa and they all seem to be anti-China and also btw they were caught in scandals sexually harassing women.

Eventually the EU will want Chinese tourism dollars since Chinese are the biggest spenders in the world. I'd be okay if they didn't go since it's just Chinese feeding into the romanticizing of Europe. I imagine someday the West will demand China buy widgets from them in a scheme where they still make money from the Chinese but it doesn't cost them anything and in tourism they can still make money while Chinese not actually being in their country.

The US is now claiming they are going to invest in Indian vaccine production. Maybe China which is way more efficient should offer to make more vaccines for the Europeans.

I have noticed the uptick for over the last weeks. And I was thinking that herd immunity probably has failed Indians. Remember how Sweden and the UK tried to resist lockdown and believe in herd immunity. Anti-masks, anti-vaccines, anti-lockdown, and herd immunity have shown us that not only the Western elites but also their scientists have failed their people.

That's a apart of the Quad meeting. They're not going to make vaccines in China when the Quad is all about being against China and vaccinating other countries is all about countering China vaccine distribution to the world.

India relies upon the US and China for raw materials and ingredients for its vaccines. So India is not a vaccine power house but a major manufacture of vaccines only.

One sign India is not a vaccine power is they can't make it without someone else's money. I believe Japan is flipping the bill to let India make the J&J vaccine that will be distributed to the world through the Quad.
