One ship sits lower than the other.
Looks like they won't make modifications to the funnels on the D.

I'm disapointed that we still see that "TV antenna" behind the main radarmast. I was hoping for something more substantial to replace it. Or perhabs the structure isn't finished yet. Eitherway i hope to see her going out on sea trials before the end of this year.

To be honest I am more concerned about more and more pictures referring to those modules as D4 which by all accounts seems to be correct
As of now D4 should have been under construction in the hallway where D2 was launched, if not then certainly by now it should be under assembly in the hall from where D3 was launched about a month ago, I know it’s only been a month since D3 was launched but those modules don’t look very much far head, it could be a while before they assemble those in the hallway
This is all assuming that the hallway that launched D2 is getting re-configured to build Type 055 cruisers since it looks to be sitting empty since D2 was launched last Dec in 2012, and that can be the only reason for it to be sitting empty since we have not heard of incident or accident at the shipyard
Unless they do the number on the construction pace I don’t see any more Ds getting launched this year, currently we have 2 hallways sitting empty at JN, that’s not like JN who launched 7-8 DDG in span of 3 years

It is a little curious -- I wonder if something else is going on in the building hall. Does anyone remember the delay (if there was any) between D1 launched and D3 appearing in the hall?
At any rate, perhaps PLAN had overestimated the pace they could induct 052Ds, and asked JNCX to stagger production a little.

Come on guys aren't we getting a little greedy here ? There are 2 C's and 3 D's in JN that are in varius stages of being fitted out. There is 1 C on sea trail and 1 D in the building hall. That's 7 DDG's that JN is juggling right now. And from the PLAN's perspective beside the Type 052C/D's there are also other ships that are in varius stages of construction or on sea trials like the Type 054A's and Type 056's in other shipyard's across the country.

For one thing, there is also a Type 081A WOCHI class minesweeper fitting out at Jiangnan (probably 844, as sister 845 was recently launched at Wuhan - an indication that PLAN has shifted the order for this class from overburdened Jiangnan to another shipyard).
Jiangnan has also built rocket transport ships Yuan Wang 21 and 22, the latter being seen recently in the fitting-basin.
