I wonder how Marcos Jr. is reacting to the news that his Western paymasters are now trying to dismantle the very institution they once used to justify dragging Duterte to The Hague.

It’s also quite telling how many Filipinos suddenly become passionate defenders of “international law” and the “rules-based order” when it comes to the South China Sea. They loudly celebrated the 2016 Arbitral Tribunal ruling as if it granted the Philippines sovereignty over the disputed features, when in reality, the tribunal made no such ruling. It only addressed maritime entitlements under UNCLOS and hilariously rejected China’s nine-dash line. The constant misrepresentation of what the ruling actually said has become a staple of Philippine social media discourse on the issue.

This gem is too good to miss. Below is the archived version. The author seems to have an Indian name.

Here we go again.

According to Michael Pettis, EV industry is not such a big deal - Japan should have a vibrant EV industry by now, except it doesn't.

You want to know why there’s such antipathy towards foreign males in China? Especially towards Indians?
Because of crap like this:

That’s not even the worse of it, there was also a foreigner a white male who would take hidden cameras of Chinese women he slept with so he could upload it on social media and brag about it.

There comes a point where Chinese society needs a good dose of xenophobia if only to instil a sense of social propriety and to prevent Chinese girls from stooping so low, for instance, most Anglo Australian women won’t do this because they have such a racist high sense of their place in the racial pecking order that no Indian male, let alone a Chinese man, is going to sleep with heaps of normal white Anglo girls and brag about it on social media.
Creepy guys are not exclusively Indian.
White girls are not unobtainable by Chinese dudes.

Lindsey Graham sister has been appointed as US Senator.

How about Graham's husband?

As a devout evangelical Christian, the late Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina not only abstained from going steady with a hubby, but also

to preclude others from doing so.

For better or worse, SCOTUS

the law Lindsey Graham legislated to codify the example he set, and to compel others — who may lack his immaculate piety and superior virtues — to follow suit.

In lieu of holy matrimony, the good senator reportedly fulfilled his God given urges by retaining the services of countless male prostitutes, or "rent boys" as they're known.

Per now deleted tweets posted by one Sean Harding, who was apparently acquainted with Lindsey's love:

Other "sex workers" — as they euphemistically call themselves in many English speaking countries — have also come forward to out Mr. Graham:

One such allegation against Lindsey was in fact how he earned the beloved "Ladybug" moniker that oh so many refer to him by:

Granted, Lindsey Graham absolutely ain't the only prominent American politician who've been publicly and rightfully recognized for their prolific prowess with professional prostitutes.

Our illustrious leader, the great and magnificent, Donald J. Trump was in fact caught in a

involving Stormy Daniels, a "sex worker" whose pornographic career peaked in the 2000s.

This affair not only led to the

of Trump's long time personal attorney, Michael Cohen, on federal charges, but also Cohen's

of our great leader.

Moreover, it's important to recognize that members of Team Trump don't just patronize prostitutes, they apparently work as prostitutes as well:

To be fair, politicians patronizing prostitutes is par for the course regardless of jurisdiction. So ain't here to moralize as that'd be puerile and silly.

Problem is officials become liabilities

— at the expense of the public — when they're too cowardly to acknowledge all the fun they've had!

Eunuch Elite: Peasant usage of illegal air conditioners solved.

I don't get it. Obviously, I am not a nuclear engineer or a physicist.

Are they really saying, that the nuclear reactor was overheating due to the heat, therefore it had to be shut down, like a car engine.

That does not sound good.

To generate power, you need a heat source and a heat sink. Typically, that heat sink is a body of water containing other living organisms. Once that body of water gets warm enough, any additional heat is going to start killing those living organisms in the water. To prevent an ecological disaster, they have to shutdown the powerplants.

Yes it's a real thing. Not so much overheat though, more they don't want to heat up the river any more and kill everything in them:

EDF has taken this action because its nuclear plants are subject to strict environmental regulations limiting the use of rivers to cool the plants if the river water passes a certain temperature threshold.

The nuclear shutdowns included two reactors at the Nogent-sur-Seine plant on the Seine river, north of Paris, “to limit the temperature increase between the water withdrawn from the Seine and the water discharged back into it, thereby protecting aquatic plant and animal life,” EDF said.

French reactors are about half-half. Half of them use open cycle cooling and half using closed cycle cooling (you know with those distinctive hyperboloid cooling towers strongly associated with reactors). Not all open cycle cooling reactors are affected by river water though as about half of those sit at the seaside and are cooled by ocean water.

Problem with rivers is the times when the water temperature becomes an issue during heat wave is also when the electricity usage spikes and you really need fire on all cylinders on those days.
