The fact that they launched the missile from shallow depths within Bohai shows that China is planning for worst case scenario if the nuclear subs can’t make it to deeper water in SCS.

Reminds me of the Soviet navy's creation of the SSBN bastions in the arctic Laptev,Kara,Barents seas where the Russian Tyhoon,Delta 4 series SSBNs can remain safely in their waters without traversing NATO/US chokepoints/SOSUS networks and as the SLBM technology can provide the necessary range /accuracy/numbers to make it feasible.The SCS is viable but the Gulf of Bohai /Chihli is way too shallow. for a PLAN ssbn bastion.

Just a question on the PLAN's SLBM 's JL2/JL3-do they have the aerospike for enhanced aerodynamics?(a brilliant solution BTW for the blunt missile that needs to contain multiple MIRV's-??OSINT only!!!!

IIRC, there was one USN Admiral who mentioned that the PLAN has been putting at least one 094/A/B SSBN on constant deterrence patrol a few years back.

I am a bit surprised if it was operational in 2016, I thought around 2019/2020 ..... but probably reasonable to anticipate Trump unpredictability in his 1st term

Definitely fake. No Chinese ICBM in active service would have model designations painted on its body, these markings can only be seen on models used in parades.

btw It’s also worth noting that there are quite a few braggarts in TikTok’s comments section who boast about having operated some kind of advanced weaponry during their military service—just as you wouldn’t take the random nonsense posted by such users on Reddit and Twitter at face value.
