submarine launch rate of US vs Russia vs China since 2010 tells quite the story.
Just the raw tonnage increase and having 2 shipyards going at it really increases modern SSN numbers by quite a bit.
When did Ayi say: PLA is not in a position to scoff at 885M? Was it comparing it to 093B or the new subs?
In terms of overall capacity, SSGNs and SSBNs also count. The Columbia SSBNs under construction count as two SSNs for example.
If we look at the size of the Jiangnan New Assembly Hall, it is only a quarter of the size of the two new Huludao Halls.
So it only adds 25% more floor area, but more importantly, the arrival of Jiangnan spurs competition in nuclear submarine construction, and the resulting cost/speed/technology improvements.

With both the Huludao Southern Assembly Hall and the Jiangnan New Assembly Hall, I think they are ramping to 4-6 SSNs per year from these buildings.
Plus whatever comes out of Huludao Eastern Assembly Hall.

If we go with a 12.5-13mm diameter for the Type-095 and 09X, that is very similar to other SSBN classes such as:
13m Ohio/Columbia/Type-094
12.8m Vanguard/Dreadnought
12.5m Triomphant
So would future Chinese SSBNs have the same diameter and propulsion as the Type-095/09X, and simply lengthen the hull?
