It was not the wonderful leadership in Pakistan that asked him not to do it; it was the US military.

They knew his harebrained scheme would end up with Iran taking out a destroyer at close range in Hormuz. The same way they knew the Isfahan raid was going to be a fiasco, only being forced to do it after Trump purged all the dissenting generals.

I always found the Taiwan-Japan relationship overrated by Japan and dumb weebs.

They are connected coz Taiwan once was under Japan rule. That's it. It's no different from the UK and Hong Kong. But at least that lasted until 1997 while Japan had had no say since 1945.

If there's such a strong relation, you figure Taiwanese people would make more effort to learn Japanese instead of only knowing Mandarin and Hokkien aka the language of the so called enemy. Watching anime doesn't mean crap considering China does it in many cities. Where do you think Genshin Impact came from? If anything even in week aspect Taiwan is getting outperformed.

Let's send a guy from Taiwan for 1 year with little support to Xiamen/Tokyo and let's see which one he will feel more comfortable with. Given how he would be basically illiterate in Tokyo compared to just going over the border in Xiamen where he can just use Hokkien, I can imagine he will find things out the ugly way.

Singapore would probrably be better than Xiamen because both were part of the 4 Asian Tigers but yeah I see what you mean.

But it's crazy that when Japan occupied Xiamen, people can and do apply to become a registered Taiwanese despite not being one.
