"Cross posting from Pakistan Armed Forces Thread"

As per the above press briefing by the Dy. ACM, the key takeaways are:

  1. Next-generation fighters
  2. Additional J-10Cs
  3. More advanced JF-17 variants

He also mentioned that the groundwork has already been completed for the induction of the above platforms.

Regarding the “more advanced JF-17s,” which block/variant is he referring to?

One of the notable points from the Dy. CAS’s press briefing was the reference to “additional J-10CEs.”

As we know, Pakistan’s initial reported order for the J-10CE stood at 50 aircraft. The question now is whether the Dy. CAS was referring to additional units beyond the original order, or simply talking about the completion/delivery of the existing batch.

For quite some time, there has been chatter within PAF circles suggesting that the service is interested in expanding the J-10CE fleet further, with numbers in the range of 90–100 aircraft often being discussed. While there is still no official confirmation regarding any follow-on order, the latest statement has certainly fueled further speculation.

It will be interesting to see how things evolve from here.

Wonder if a portion of them will serve as a sellsword force in Saudi Arabia.

There have been long-standing rumors about Indonesia showing interest in the J-10C, and their Defense Minister even commented on it at one point. Has there been any concrete follow-up or recent news on this? I haven't heard much lately.

Just realized the date. About one year now from that day:)

  1. Next-generation fighters
  2. Additional J-10Cs
  3. More advanced JF-17 variants
At this point I feel like a modern LIFT would be in order, and I haven't heard any procurement news. The current solution for training seems less than optimal once fleet size grows and integrates next-gen. Can someone more knowledgeable inform me as to what's going on?

Doubt island SEA countries will ever buy important Chinese gears.
Indonesia's posture on J10 is fake. (obtain info, investment deal etc.)

Island SEA has a pro-China public opinion poll as a hedge.
IndoChina SEA has a pro-USA public opinion poll as a hedge.

Wang Haifeng (Vice Chief Designer of J-20, Chief Designer of J-36) disclosed that J-10C performed the lock/shoot of Rafales/Mirage/Su/Mig using its own radar. Erieeye has enough fidelity to provide general direction but not fire control level guidance.

That said, PLAAF AWACs at KJ-500 level and above are perfectly capable of independently guiding AAMs at long range. If any hostile air force is skeptical they are welcomed to try.

Assuming J-10CE radar is at least as powerful as an AN/APG-80, focusing the radar on a 10x10 degree part of the sky by using AWACS direction, the radar should be able to track a 2 m2 RCS target (equivalent to an air-to-air loaded Rafale) from 200km distance.

Corresponds with what we've heard from last years engagements.
