I wanted to share this video I found on Twitter regarding Starlink functioning as a secret radar system used for various forms of monitoring. I am not qualified to critique this YouTuber's comments, but I hope some users here will find the information presented interesting.

He is just fantasizing, a Chinese equivlant of brain-hole "脑洞".

Starlink uses similar antenna like a SAR, but most of its mass is made for processing, routing data packags which is totally different circuitry from SAR. It is like a sedan (car) has an engine and chasis the size of a pickup truck, but you can't make a viechle providing the same comfort and passenger capacity of a seden with the same cargo capacity of a pickup truck without increasing the size, weight and cost. Technially it is not a big deal but once you do it, it is not a starlink any more.

AIM 260 dollar procurement between FY27 and FY31 in the FY27 President's budget is $14.2 billion split between the Air Force and Navy ($8.2 billion for Air Force and $6 billion for the Navy). The number of missiles purchased is classified. For comparison, in the same proposed FY27 budget lists 10,836 AIM-120's procured over the same time period (FY27-FY31). So I think it is fair to say that the AIM-260 procurement numbers are going to be large if the budget it approved.

today. “On behalf of the Secretary of War and Deputy Secretary of War, we are grateful to Secretary Phelan for his service to the Department and the United States Navy. We wish him well in his future endeavors. Undersecretary Hung Cao will become Acting Secretary of the Navy.”

You have to wonder about FF(X) and BBG(X) with a sudden move like this.

"Makes perfect sense."

I mean, USAF insisted for decades that an all-VLO future inventory was the only way to go and steadfastly refused to entertain evolved fourth-generation aircraft. Now that F-15EX exists and is apparently quite wonderful, we're just meant to pretend that USAF has always been at war with Eurasia...
