A U.S. C-17 transport plane issues a 7700 distress call near the Egyptian coast

General Naghdi: We have many targets that we have not yet achieved, which could change the course of the war. We can halt the production of more than 15 million barrels of oil per day for a year.
Advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard:

The situation on the front is excellent, and our forces are at our disposal. We hold the initiative. We have not achieved many of the objectives, which means we have left many of the most important tasks for later stages. If we are forced to fight again, we will hold the initiative.

We can stop the production of more than 15 million barrels of oil per day and shut it down for up to a year, but we did not want to cause a major disruption in the world.
We will attack information technology and artificial intelligence and oil production.

U.S. Military Prepares to Board Iran-Linked Ships in Coming Days, Officials Say

American forces will pursue vessels around the world that are helping Tehran

The U.S. military is preparing in coming days to board Iran-linked oil tankers and seize commercial ships in international waters, according to U.S. officials, expanding its naval crackdown beyond the Middle East.

The planning comes as the Iranian military continues to tighten its grip on the Strait of Hormuz, attacking several commercial vessels on Saturday as it declared the waterway was being

by Iran. The developments sent shipping companies scrambling a day after Iran’s foreign minister said the strait was fully open to commercial traffic—an announcement that was welcomed by President Trump.

The Trump administration’s decision to step up the economic pressure on Tehran is intended to force the regime to re-open the strait and make concessions on its nuclear program, which has been the focus of negotiations between the U.S. and Iran. Trump said Friday that Iran has already

. Also at stake is how long Iran might agree to forgo enriching uranium and whether Tehran would receive billions of dollars in frozen funds from foreign countries as part of a deal. The U.S. has already turned back 23 ships that have sought to leave Iranian ports as part of a naval blockade of Iranian ports, according to U.S. Central Command. The broadening of the campaign will enable the U.S. to take control of Iran-linked vessels around the world, including ships carrying Iranian oil that are already sailing outside the Persian Gulf and those carrying arms that could support the Iranian regime.

The U.S. “will actively pursue any Iranian-flagged vessel or any vessel attempting to provide material support to Iran,” Gen. Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Thursday. “This includes dark fleet vessels carrying Iranian oil. As most of you know, dark fleet vessels are those illicit or illegal ships evading international regulations, sanctions or insurance requirements.” The move, which Caine said would be carried out in part by the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, will implement a new phase of the U.S. pressure campaign against Tehran, which Trump administration officials have dubbed Economic Fury.

Trump is optimistic that the naval blockade, combined with measures imposed under Economic Fury, will help facilitate a peace deal, White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly told The Wall Street Journal. The push to step up the economic pressure comes as a temporary cease-fire between the two sides is set to expire next week. Talks held last weekend in Pakistan ended without a breakthrough, and another round of negotiations has yet to be set.

Both sides have been taking steps in case fighting resumes, though neither side appears eager to restart the war. Iran has retained thousands of

and is retrieving the launchers from underground storage areas. U.S. officials say that the country’s defense industry has been bombed heavily, which will preclude Iran from quickly making more missiles.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that U.S. forces were “maximally postured” to resume military operations if talks fail. But Trump administration officials don’t appear eager to use ground troops, an option that could incur U.S. casualties and that is unpopular with most of the American public. And while Hegesth stressed that striking Iran’s power plants was still an option, such a move would also entail substantial risk, as it could lead Tehran to retaliate against energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and other Arab nations allied with the U.S. That has put a premium on economic leverage as the White House looks for a settlement and an off-ramp from the conflict.

a day of crude exports are bound for China and bought up by small, independent “teapot” refineries. Though China spent months shoring up its supply to head off shocks from the conflict, Caine’s remark served as a warning to Beijing, one U.S. official said. The Treasury Department said Wednesday that it was expanding its list of sanctioned vessels, companies and individuals to intensify pressure on Iran’s illicit oil trade.

The newly sanctioned ships and companies are controlled by oil shipping magnate Mohammad Hossein Shamkhani, according to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. He is the son of Ali Shamkhani, who was a top security adviser to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei killed along with the Iranian leader in the Israeli airstrike in late February that kicked off the war. That adds to hundreds of Iranian-linked vessels that have already been sanctioned by the Trump administration and now could be targets for boarding. Additionally, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has pledged to prosecute anyone who buys or sells sanctioned Iranian oil.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, led by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, told the Journal this week that it was working to go after sanctioned and hostile networks supporting the Iranian regime. Her office’s Threat Finance Unit

in submitting seizure warrants for vessels during Trump’s crackdown on ships serving Venezuela. Earlier this year, the U.S. military showcased its ability to track down tankers anywhere in the world, interdicting vessels connected to Venezuela in the Atlantic and Indian oceans. The Defense Department worked closely with the Justice Department and law-enforcement authorities like the U.S. Coast Guard to seize vessels that had run afoul of U.S. sanctions and laws.

Mark Nevitt, associate professor of law at Emory University Law School, said that the Trump administration appears to be involved in three actions at sea: the blockade near Iran, the potential seizure of dark fleet vessels in other parts of the world and an effort to crack down on contraband, such as missile parts.

“It’s a maximalist approach. If you want to put the screws down on Iran, you want to use every single legal authority you have to do that,” Nevitt said.

Iran has like 400 sanctioned ships under its name.

Iran Security council has put forth this statement

– On the tenth day of the war, the Americans began sending messages and requests for a ceasefire and negotiations to end the war that they themselves had started.

– On the fortieth day of the war and with the official announcement of the U.S. President accepting Iran’s 10-point plan as the framework for negotiations to end the war, the Islamic Republic of Iran accepted these negotiations in Islamabad with the mediation of Pakistan.
– These negotiations lasted 21 hours without interruption, and the Iranian delegation raised and pursued the demands of the Iranian people with seriousness and initiative and maximum distrust in the United States.

– Despite agreeing to act within the framework of Iran’s 10-point plan, the enemy raised new and excessive demands during the negotiations, which were met with the Iranian delegation’s firm stance and the decision not to compromise on its positions in any way.
– For this reason, the first round of negotiations ended without a clear result, and its continuation was postponed until another time when the enemy stops being excessive and amends its demands in accordance with the realities on the ground.

– In recent days, with the presence of the Pakistani Field Marshal in Tehran as a mediator in the negotiations, new proposals have been raised by the Americans, which the Islamic Republic of Iran is considering and has not yet responded to.
– We announce that the Iranian negotiating team will not compromise, retreat, or tolerate anything, and will defend with all its might the interests and concerns of the Iranian nation.

– One of the preconditions for Iran's acceptance of the temporary ceasefire was the cessation of fire on all fronts, including Lebanon, which the Zionist enemy violated from the very beginning.
– At the insistence of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Zionist regime agreed to a ceasefire in Lebanon and it was decided that if the enemy observes the ceasefire on all fronts, the Strait of Hormuz would be temporarily and conditionally opened until the end of the ceasefire period, only for the passage of commercial ships but not military vessels or civilian vessels of the U.S. and Israel, with the control and permission of the Iranian armed forces and through the route determined by Iran.

Considering that the majority of the equipment of the U.S. military bases in the Persian Gulf region is provided through the Strait of Hormuz, and this is a threat to the national security of Iran and the Persian Gulf region, Iran is determined to exercise supervision and control over traffic through the Strait of Hormuz until the war is permanently ended and a lasting peace is achieved in the entire region.
– This will be implemented by receiving complete information from passing vessels, issuing a certificate of passage in accordance with the announced regulations of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in accordance with war conditions, and paying a passage fee, and on the routes announced by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

– As long as there is a naval blockade, the Islamic Republic of Iran will consider it a violation of the ceasefire and will prevent the conditional and limited opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

TL;DR the US Navy was so under-prepared to fight Iran, in just over six weeks they're starting to run out of food, hygiene products, and other key provisions. USPS also suspended service to the region indefinitely so sailors' families can't make up the difference even when they try.

But this specific line stuck out to me:
[General Dan "Razin"] Caine added that service members have also relied on copious amounts of nicotine. “I’m not saying we have a problem,” he laughed.
US military troops will be the first to admit, with humor and concern, that they have a substance abuse problem. If you press them on it they'll always talk about how they're over worked, under paid, and poorly rested, leaving substance abuse being the singular reliable coping mechanism.

I don't know that much about Gen. Caine. Maybe he's brillaint, maybe he's a actually a great leader. However, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs publically laughing about his troops' substance abuse coping due fighting an active conflict says all I need to know.

For those who doesn't remember, USAF General Dan "Razin" Caine replaced USAF General Charles Q. "CQ" Brown Jr who:
  1. Was nominated to his 4-star rank by Donald Trump in 2020
  2. Promoted to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff by Joe Biden
  3. Purged by Pete Hegseth for being "woke". General Brown is Black.
Gen. Dan "Razin" Caine himself was appointed for the position because, according to
