So where did all the bravado of "muh we civilized coalition against the godless Chicom's tyrannical bullying" go? Isn't the Philippines the Chihuahua of the East?
I'd say that now is the prime time for Beijing to go harder on Manila to extract concessions.
Antelope Reef is around 1000km from the Philippines. It matters w.r.t. Vietnam, but it's thoroughly irrelevant in the context you're talking about.
In case of war, China should mine the waters all around their archipelago with drones. Starve them of oil and gas, and even food will become a survival problem.
I recalled the Jai Pagpags having errorneously declared China as "the Asian Isreal" before because "muh godless Chicoms bully us!" - Perhaps China should consider behaving like one instead.
Ungrateful pricks deserve nothing but utter and total punishment.

Why do we even bother getting so worked up against a country that can be literally taken over in hours - like Venezuela - by the PLA if the situation warrants it.
The Philippines is energy resource poor that the moment you struck it's anemic power supply the people in the country would sing China number 1 quick.
Just look at the situation in their main city! The commuters are literally walking for miles down Commonwealth Avenue because ZERO jeepneys or buses are running. No rides. No mercy. Just thousands of ordinary Filipinos turning the highway into their daily “calvary” because of sky-high fare hikes.
This is the real struggle happening RIGHT NOW. And they can go to war with China? Pfft!!
