There is a Idiom “闷声赚大钱(make money silently)“ which perfectly reflects the situation, DN,W.

There are far more worse things in Japanese black market than burusera that I have seen with my own eyes, completely out of comprehension that even the most evil Chinese can imagine.

Just take a walk around Shinookubo, Shinjuku Kabukicho, or the infamous To-yoko, it is very easy to buy a underaged girl for as low as 200USD per night. The youngest girl who sells her body I have seen in an interview was only 12 yo.

Convienently the law only punishes in the case the offender knew that victim was under 18, but for a crime to be established, there must be an awareness of the facts that constitute a crime. For example, for sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old to be punishable, the perpetrator must have known that the other party was under 18 years old. It is often used as a defendent's claim that he didn't know about the victim's age.

As for child porn, only real footage was banned, any kinds of cartoons / manga / digital illustration is considered "Freedom of expression", as a result you can still buy pedo cartoons (even character is infants) in the digital platform, with a disclaimer "all characters in the piece are over 18"
That is really messed up. How do you know so much about it???

I wonder if Xi will allow himself to do one of those humiliating press gaggles where he sits with Trump in the gaudy Oval Office and a hundred annoying western media members scream questions at them. There is potential for Takaechi level embarrassment.
Chinese government participation in foreign diplomatic visits both at home and abroad are pre-orchestrated in advance, down to the smallest detail. Rather than it being a case of "...if Xi will allow himself...", it's much more likely the final say belongs to a relevant government office/team. And any serious deviation from a mutually agreed-upon plan would most likely carry diplomatic consequences.

Given the current strategic balance, even if Xi were to ever participate in one of those stupid press events, I suspect only the most trusted journalists would be permitted in the room to ask questions. All questions would be pre-screened in order, with scripted answers. Any journalists breaking from the script would be removed and most likely punished. That's just how Chinese diplomatic events go, and foreign governments that want a visit have to go along with the script.

As for Takaichi, Trump neither fears nor respects her. I expect everyone reporting to Trump sees Takaichi more or less the same way. She's a stupid clownish chihuahua yipping for a firm beating. You can't say the same about how Trump views Putin or Xi, so I doubt Trump would allow any embarrassment of Xi to occur. It it did, Trump would probably punish the fuck out of the Americans responsible for it.

I go to Costco to get gas. Since Trump's war it has risen $1.20 a gallon. Oddly normally when you see an intersection where there's a gas station on each corner with varying prices, guess which one gets most of the business? It's the most expensive one. I don't know why unless people associate higher prices as better quality. All the gas comes from the same refinery.
No, not all gasoline comes from the same refineries, and even though many of the gasolines end up in the same terminal where they are mixed, the origin of those fuels can, and do come from different refineries. In addition, places with higher fuel prices from Shell, and Chevron are justified because they are Top Tier fuels, which means the additive package that they use with the fuel exceeds the EPA minimum requirements. The additive package from Shell and Chevron includes very effective detergents in the fuel that also clean the engine, fuel injectors, fuel filter, and fuel pumps. Moreover, Sunoco gas stations offer 94 octane fuel, which in the Texas, Arizona, or New Mexico heat, helps cars with high compression engines--performance cars--from pulling timing, so the car can run at its full potential. So, the higher prices do translate to real gains.

Probably because people have reward points and not enough mental math skills to calculate reward points doesn't offset the higher prices.
This happened more before they offered rewards.

Yes I've heard it before but if you look you can find a cheaper same name brand gas station somewhere else. They ain't all selling at the same price.
