seems like iran, even though its probably at this point is decenteralized to hell, they could kill the entire military high command and it wouldnt matter, its the base commanders following their pre written orders, seems to be a better plan than the US and Isreal.
Only place that is viable launching pad for a US land invasion would be Kuwait and Southern Iraq, as the land there would be flat enough for an armored push. But even then when you look at a topographic map of Iran, one realizes what a gargantuan undertaking it would truly be and why every US general worth their salt always advised against it. Its not a game at all and beyond the comprehension of geopolitics hobbyists.
The country is only 300,000 square kilometers smaller than Iraq and Afghanistan combined, incredibly mountainous, has numerous population centers that the US and Israel will have to occupy, with a population that despises them and won't even grant them the "honeymoon phase" that Iraqi and Afghanis gave them during the initial days of both their respective invasions. That's not to mention that even the viable launching point of Kuwait is constantly under drone and missile fire, nevermind the rest of the Gulf if America chose an amphibious invasion. There's been talk of using Central Asia and Pakistan, but of course I doubt any of those countries would grant the US approval to do so. And there's the Caucuses which is a no no for obvious reasons.
This is an operation that to be safe and drawing from the lessons of Russia's Ukraine war will need an invasion force of roughly 1 million personnel. For reference, America currently has roughly 600,000 enlisted combat troops spread across the globe. NATO is unsympathetic, Gulf troops would be useless, mercenaries can only provide 50,000 at most so the invasion force would be 100% American. Meaning a draft would have to be imposed, which would be incredibly unpopular.

Israel, out of anger for what has taken place in the Middle East, has violently lashed out at a major facility known as South Pars Gas Field in Iran. A relatively small section of the whole has been hit. The United States knew nothing about this particular attack, and the country of Qatar was in no way, shape, or form, involved with it, nor did it have any idea that it was going to happen. Unfortunately, Iran did not know this, or any of the pertinent facts pertaining to the South Pars attack, and unjustifiably and unfairly attacked a portion of Qatar’s LNG Gas facility. NO MORE ATTACKS WILL BE MADE BY ISRAEL pertaining to this extremely important and valuable South Pars Field unless Iran unwisely decides to attack a very innocent, in this case, Qatar - In which instance the United States of America, with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before. I do not want to authorize this level of violence and destruction because of the long term implications that it will have on the future of Iran, but if Qatar’s LNG is again attacked, I will not hesitate to do so. Right now Trump’s meager troop movements are just for show thinking Iran will shiver in fear and surrender. That’s how Trump thinks hence why he was surprised that Iran wasn’t as easy as Venezuela. Trump demanded other countries put their navy ships in the line of fire because it would be a PR disaster for the world to see a US navy ship burning in the Strait of Hormuz. What would happen if US marines die on Iranian soil? The US’s lopsided war casualty numbers in their favor are because of stand-off weapons not man-to-man combat because that how the US fights these days. So where is the US going to stage their troops let alone their stand-off weapons to give support? It looks like the US has evacuated all their personnel at bases in the Middle East in fear they maybe vulnerable to attack. Does it sound like a troop invasion is imminent? The only thing you can count on being imminent is Trump’s fragile ego.
