I've seen multiple videos where they launch about 8 interceptors at what seems to be a single incoming missile.
I think that is the new air defence doctrine against the more advanced Iranian missiles, not the usual old launch 2, but launch 8.
Despite that their interception rate seems modest.
What some analysts and experts have preached for a long time, that ballistic missiles are difficult to intercept and that interception rates in tests are faked with optimal test conditions, while real-world intercepts remain challenging and experimental, is once again proven right.
Especially the decoys the Iranians put into the missiles seem basically an entirely unsolved problem. But the mere speed alone, despite the ballistic trajectory, seems to make intercepts really challenging.
Hypersonics might indeed be a bit overhyped considering anti-ballistic capabilities are still so poor.
