It’s a systematic culture that the US will have a hard time changing. It’s like communism for the Western capitalistic elite. The US auto dealership network wants to block Chinese EVs from entering into the US because they’re worried China will sell directly to the customer not needing them. That’s an admission they add nothing of value to Chinese EVs and just want to make a profit off of Chinese EV success by marking up the price to just make money for themselves. And that’s why everything is more expensive in the West. Vertical integration is foreign to Western capitalists where they want to leach off of someone else’s success adding nothing of value. That’s why being inexpensive is also bad in Western capitalism so nothing can be cheap.

Chinese EVs are so inexpensive that the leeches will double the price still making it in range Americans are use to and it’ll end up they will make more money than the Chinese that produce the EV. That’s the kind of twisted capitalism Americans are use to.

Oil price shock will damage many other countries far worse than China. In fact the higher the oil prices go, there might be an acceleration towards more EV demand in China and around the world. China controls the entire EV supply chain.

Oil price shock will affect Taiwan and South Korea economies which need energy for its chip fabs. If chip supply is affected, it will cause problems for data centres and AI bubble will be under stress.

US dollar relies on gulf monarchies to recycle their dollars into US bonds.

US is destroying the current world order that benefits it the most.

Places like Taiwan, South Korea and Japan will hoard their oil reserves. This is a good time for China to make a move as the US ammunition inventory is dwindling in Iran and Ukraine. South Korea and Japan dare not waste their fuel on Taiwan. The US does have some inventory in the Philippines, but these can be destroyed by a couple of DF missiles. The US still depends on Taiwan for chip manufacturing. The leverage gained by China will be significant.

What is the goal? If it's regime change, without boots on ground land conquest, I don't think a few airstrikes or missile salvos can change the regime of 90 million to be pro-West. If anything, Iran will sprint to nuclear capabilities and be fervently anti-Western, potentially dragging US deeper in Middle East, requiring boots on the ground.

There is no strategy involved, the whole trying to hurt China is also a cope, because getting bogged down in another Middle East conflict helps China, and weakens US financially and military.

In other words, how does US starting a multi-front war in Latin America, Middle East, Eastern Europe, hurt China? That's like end of empire type flailing and desperateness.
In reality, for the US, it's enough to reduce the Iranian army to the level of organization and "threat" of the current Hezbollah, ISIS, Al-Qaeda, or Taliban, which are de facto subservient vassals serving only as controlled opposition. This is sufficient for Israel to be the uncontested power in the region, thus freeing the US to deal with Russia and China. The West's objective is quite clear, just reduce Iran to a minor regional issue that Israel can control alone.

If they install a puppet government like Jordan or Saudi Arabia, it would only be extra profit, but without the useful scapegoat for Israel.

Only the West thinks this is a great deal. China has to pay more instead of getting to pay less. What does China get? They ask for China to do a lot of stuff but you never hear what China is going to get from doing what they want? Maybe they'll like China afterwards... Maybe they think China is not suppose to get anything like how the West expects China not to retaliate after they slap sanctions on China because China is one that's suppose to understand that it's been bad and deserves punishment. The fact is you can't trust the West on anything. They talk about the rule of law but that's what they expect from everyone else while they don't have to follow it. Look at how Trump think he gets to choose another country's leader. That's not democracy. Of course because they have to install Western-type institutions that favor their interests over anyone else's even their own people before a country under their control can have a democracy.
