One thing I wonder if China can do during this Iran war is to send the PLAN to the area to escort Chinese commercial ships. Iran is allowing Chinese ships through, so they only need to defend against false flag attempts or FF incidents rather than sustained multi-domain attacks from any military. Chinese insurers can draw up the war coverage policies while still allowing Lloyd's and such to continue coverage for other incidents.

For something like this a few 054A's would do, but for the purpose of practice and presence they can send a CSG as well, with extra 054A's attached to do the actual escorting. Maybe at first use Djibouti as the home base, but eventually use this as an excuse to convert Gwadar to a military base too.

They need to send a more comprehensive fleet to the region now, as a show of force and for monitoring the invaders.

India getting hit by the triple whammy: Western protectionism, AI and robotics proliferation, Shrinking Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into India.

India can't really take advantage of its large youthful population in age of AI and robotics proliferation, Western markets erecting trade barriers/tariffs on Indian exports, and drying up FDI. Good luck trying to compete as a "China manufacturing alternative", esp. since China is also withholding critical manufacturing tech to India.

According to this twitter, Iran is allowing Chinese-crewed ships through.

Both China and Russia may actually benefit from the closing of the Strait of Hormuz.

Europe is not so lucky though.

Until September? I doubt the US and Israel have enough munitions to last to next month.

Today's lesson in mathematics - I heard she has a degree from MIT the other day?

Oil price shock will damage many other countries far worse than China. In fact the higher the oil prices go, there might be an acceleration towards more EV demand in China and around the world. China controls the entire EV supply chain.

Oil price shock will affect Taiwan and South Korea economies which need energy for its chip fabs. If chip supply is affected, it will cause problems for data centres and AI bubble will be under stress.

US dollar relies on gulf monarchies to recycle their dollars into US bonds.

US is destroying the current world order that benefits it the most.

I hate to say it but no matter what the hell China does or doesn’t do, it wins. It is almost as if it has the Mandate of Heaven.
