ASELSAN has successfully completed the first flight of its FEWS-U Electronic Warfare Self-Protection Suite integrated onto the Bayraktar KIZILELMA platform, marking a significant milestone in Türkiye’s electronic warfare capabilities.

Conducted in cooperation with BAYKAR, the flight test validated the ability of FEWS-U to enhance the survivability of next-generation unmanned combat aircraft against complex radar and missile threats. Developed with ASELSAN’s advanced electronic warfare expertise, FEWS-U enables early detection of hostile radar emissions and guided missile seekers, automatically deploying optimized countermeasures including RF jamming, deception techniques, and chaff/flare dispensing. Fully integrated with the aircraft’s mission computer and sensor fusion architecture, the suite autonomously prioritizes threats, executes countermeasures within milliseconds, and supports coordinated threat data sharing with other air and ground assets.

The system architecture includes ARIA-U 210 Radar Warning Receiver, ARK-U 210 RF Jammer, SÜMER-A 200 Suite Central Management Unit, NATO-compliant KARTACA-A 200 Countermeasure Dispensing System, and low-observable GizEM conformal communication antennas
. Delivering rapid threat identification, high-accuracy angle-of-arrival detection, and 360-degree coverage, FEWS-U represents a new phase in electronic warfare capability for unmanned combat aircraft.

^^ Let's call this one Pompeii-970?
Turkey has published footage of the testing of the new super-powerful GAZAP aerial bomb. The bomb weighs about 910 kg and was developed by Turkish companies MKE and Tubitak Sage. The GAZAP bomb is based on the Mk-84 bomb. The bomb has a thermobaric charge. The aerosol is sprayed, after which it detonates, the explosion creates a destructive shock wave and extreme temperatures. In addition to the thermobaric effect, the bomb is equipped with striking elements. The Mk84 Gazap bomb can be installed on F-4 and F-16 fighters.

Wonder if Turkey is going to do anything if Kurd militias in Iraq enter Iran.
Turkey should be happy that Israel and Iran, two the most regional rivals, fight and spend valuable war capital on weakening each other, while turkey gains strength unimpeded. This would also give some time to turkey to establish defense infrastructure in Syria while others are busy.

This fight will be over before any of that happens.

Did Turkyie take the license to produce Ukrainian engines like AI-25 or AI-322? If not, are they planning to do so? or they'll focus on making their own engines and maybe benefiting from Ukrainian expertise?
