It looks like he was last on the forum on Saturday??

Yes, I've previously noticed that he still visits the forum, but "silently," i.e., without posting. For a long time, he was constantly posting a remarkable variety and volume of images, and then the stream suddenly dried up.

Anyway, my apologies to everyone for going off-topic.

Heilongjiang PAP doing -30c winter warfare training
Camo tape obstructing charging handles and other questionable practices aside, I know damn well their feet are freezing lol. They are forced to wear Type-21 boots everywhere from the extreme cold weather of Heilongjiang, to tropical OTB, to the heights of the Himalayas/Kunlun, and the deserts of Djibouti. Truly pushing the limits of a cheap boot designed for garrison wear by admin clerks. Amazing things are happening in China!

It's weird, it's like the ground forces are still the only one stuck in this bizarre "cheap out where possible" mindset. Of course I just might be yapping as an armchair general but it's weird how ex-service members on bilibili also seem to think it is just fine for them not to have optics as standard at least for most units even though it's 2026 already.

The squads weapons are still exceptionally lethal, but the ground forces do get the boot end in funding and attention.
Air Force and Navy are getting most the attention and funds.

Other than some from higher speed units, many of those veterans don't really have good professional judgement on those sorts of things. They either don't know there's better ways to do things and/or they weren't in the position for those things to matter anyways.

Institutionally, it seems like they find it easier to promote the traditional eagerness of their predecessors to endure hardships and self sacrifice while modern professionalism is still a major work in progress. Tragic, considering they no longer face many of constraints and limitations that forced their forefathers to rely so heavily on those things in the first place. Nor do many of them realize what the cost of flesh and blood will look like until it's too late. Like lemmings off a cliff.

I just hope that it won't be too long before they would at least standardize red dots from like holosun or something, I've heard great things about the ARO-EVO
