Probably bought themselves big stakes in asbestos concerns for ludicrously low prices since everyone else would be avoided it like the plague, which will skyrocket in price if asbestos is made legal again.

Alternatively, is this how they think they will build that alternative rare earths supply chain outside China by getting Americans used to terrible scientifically proven cancer causing pollution at home.
For rich and evil folks like them, cancer treatment is also another revenue stream.

Is this person an Indian national?
He is from down under.
Where are they deporting him to?
Back to down under.

I hope it is not China, or Canada.

We do not want that!

:p
Hell no!

China have halted the import of garbage for years already. Canada used to dump garbage to the Philippines until its former president, Duterte threatened to declare war. Therefore China and Canada (even the Philippines) are not gonna be accepting any new garbage from down under.

PS. I really miss this guy:

I'm surprised China has no assets close to the Indian ocean?

I think eventually China will need to take a stand or else their shipping is at risk.

And US military reach is far more than China's.
I'm searching in the news and nobody has ever reported this ship having anything to do with China. Of all the articles, they say it's Panamanian flagged, carrying Venezuelan oil and China would not come up in the search window. I don't think this is a situation where they could call a Chinese combat group nearby for help.

That said, America is going to be lashing out more and more as its overall power wanes further compared to China. Expect incidents like this to increase. America's economic and technological fight with China brings the US nothing but desperation and frustration. Militarily, near China is not going well either. The very last thing America can still do to look tough and declare victory is military power projection far from China and they really use these oppertunities to ham it up:

"Distance does not protect you," the Pentagon said in a statement, alongside video and photos which appear to show the US raid.
"The vessel tried to defy President Trump's quarantine - hoping to slip away," the Pentagon statement said.

"We tracked it from the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean, closed the distance, and shut it down.
"No other nation has the reach, endurance, or will to do this. International waters are not sanctuary. By land, air, or sea, we will find you and deliver justice."

Those are the words the US used to describe how a professional military pirated an unprotected, unescorted merchant ship trading between sovereign nations. Military projection supremacy will be the last thing to rot away in America's hold on the world. As Chinese economy and technology further ascends past the US to build a global-reaching military that is larger and more advanced than America's, that will be the last thing of theirs to go and only then will America finally have no choice but to mellow down as their reign of terror comes to a close.

Good work on uncovering the lie that this was a Chinese ship, which means this is just stupid American winology where they pirated a Panamanian flagged civilian ship and claimed it’s Chinese to look big to those too lazy to fact check the claim.

If America did openly pirate a Chinese ship, there would be a massive reaction from China. Not military, but diplomatic and economic. So, if there is no reaction from China, story is bullshit.

The whole military angle is just chest thumping nonsense, and pretty pathetic nonsense at that because this slow-arsed, massive civilian ship is supposed to have managed to have slipped out from under America’s noses from the Caribbean, their literal backyard, during a massive military build up in the run up to an actual military operation, and got all the way to the Indian Ocean before they managed to pirate it.

That’s like the LAPD bragging about finally catching up to a motorhome in New York which was meant to have fled downtown LA past a police cordon to brag about the long arm of the law. Not really something you want to be bragging to all and sundry about to be frank.

And also casually trashing the whole concept of international waters is funny as hell from the self appointed sherif of the world, who is now openly engaged in banditry. If they had two functioning brain cells between them, they would immediately see how stupid and short sighted it is to set the precedent that navies can intercept civilian ships in international waters to enforce blockades unilaterally declared by single states that have zero UN sanction or basis in international law.

The PLAN admirals must be struggling to catch their breath from all the belly laughs they are doing upon hearing this news, because it’s almost like the Americans are going out of their way to make China’s life easier when it comes time to drop that hammer on Japan.

Japan is making two mistakes here. It may not realize. first North Korea experience is not really relevant to Japan (that technology that enable Russia fighting is not exposed) and Japan showing public solidarity with Ukraine/Europe but not with Scientific state. certain things that were not present before but now they are present. If there is a conflict with North Korea than Russia will really humiliate Japan this time almost occupy it. When two civilizations science combined together they look at things of outsiders with contempt. Trump is asking for Japanese investments. but Putin want to bring science home without exposing its own students to foreign Academia.
Russia has tripple responsibilities of collecting Science, helping North Korea and observe Japan for Soft Power thats why its often on Putin mind.

Elena Druzhinina: Russia's goal is to achieve technological leadership based on its own developments
The question arises: why, despite development and state programs, are Russian universities' positions in some international scientific rankings declining? It's important to keep in mind that these rankings are largely dependent on political factors. This doesn't mean they should be ignored entirely—Russian scientists closely monitor these indicators. Nevertheless, the situation is reminiscent of the Olympic Games: Russia may not be topping the unofficial medal standings not because of a lack of strong athletes, but because many of them are not allowed to compete
