Too aggressive a restriction would trigger military action, with the historical oil embargo on Japan triggering conflict with the US being a big example, so it was something that had to be modulated in any event. What matters more now is military preparedness, of which the PLA is much closer now to fully actualizing given recent developments.
That's why you divert what was going to the West into your own MIC and start pumping out weapons at the rate my grandmother makes dumplings. The US cannot fight a high intensity peer conflict when their stockpiles of munitions are depleted by their misadventures in Yemen, Israel and Iran. They won't be able to sustain replenishment either because they don't have the raw inputs courtesy of China cutting off rare earth exports.

Elon is pissed because despite trying, he wasn’t allowed on Pedo island.

All the global elites are now in damage control mode

The Epstein files and the West's complicit in Israel's Gaza genocide is really the one-two punch to Western "morality" in recent years. Even Ai Weiwei realized this.

Stupid tweet #1: as though China has ever occupied Venezuela, Panama, Arctic, Cuba, or Iran.

Stupid tweet #2: as though it's a bad thing that a Chinese anime is loved by Chinese people so much. Furthermore, China has such a large domestic market really makes this guy mad with envy.

Mommy is testing the waters in case something goes terribly wrong.

Unironically, outside of Israel, China really is the safest place for Trump and potential future U.S. political exiles except that unlike Israel they won’t be able to continue their child rape and cannibalism.

India is now desperate for Chinese investment to provide work for the incels in India

Who exactly is revealing these Epstein files? If it's coming from US government, it looks like another Panama scandal type of scenario where the US carefully releases select files targeting specific individuals while redacting and obscuring anybody (like Trump) who would pose a detriment to US strategy.

I get the impression that the Epstein files were a nuclear option for most if not all of the western elites, now what happened is unclear, perhaps trump was blackmailed into attacking Iran and when he refused, they released incriminating trump allegations in the Epstein files, so trumps ppl retaliated by releasing documents that incriminated their side ie European royalty like the Norwegian crown princess and prince andrew, ie Europeans who were against trump taking Greenland.

Question now is, where do we go from here?

That's already the case now, the biggest remaining limitations on the PLA are internal reorganization (which they're doing now) and putting the newest equipment nearing production ready status into production (specifically the Type 095 class subs). The Chinese MIC possesses the capacity now to overmatch the combined NATO+SK+Japan armaments production, to the extent that if a full scale war breaks out now the PLA can systematically advance across the Pacific, and it'll be most apparent when the first 2 units of the Type 095 are fully operational.

I'm watching a couple of these "daily life" youtubers in China.

The cost of baby formula in China is insanely high. It's almost 1.5x in nominal price difference. PPP it is even higher. One guy I am watching spends more on baby formula than on rent each month.

Anyone know why this is the case.

Regardless of the reason, these costs need to be brought down for families.

The US is probably betting that they can get rare earth supply started faster than china can build it's own financial system. Then the US will 100% try the sanctions all chinese entities again.

However it's probably harder than they think to get rare earths organized
But who will have the upper hand?

How long will it take for China to protect itself against financial sanctions
Pressuring allies to break China's hold is basically saying America has no confidence whatsoever in its own scientific prowess to do it. Countries looking up to the US were thinking that America, being supposedly the most high tech nation and lone superpower, is gonna break China's rare earths monopoly. They must be a bit surprised to hear it barking orders for them to do it instead. Oh, what a productive bunch when people want something done then shout at others to do it cus they don't think they can.

China's not trying to fight a bloody war with the US to win over Taiwan; that's what we hoped to do when we were lagging significantly. Today, we're moving on to victory by intimidation. China's already building our military faster than anyone else but most of our weapons meant to meaningfully outmatch the US qualitatively are still upcoming and around the corner. Heavy investment in what's available for mass production now will mean less resources to build those coming in the pipeline. It's a balance that the PLA has to decide upon.
