The Indian scholars and businessmen are taking for granted that India will become the 3rd largest economy in the world. Sunil Barthi Mittal is saying that it's "written in the stars". Comments section is interesting.

Sunil Mittal said that China had a "free pass" with the US market in the past. India doesn't have that today, but it has a 1.5 billion strong consumer market. So he is basically saying that India doesn't need the world market to grow into the third largest economy. Who needs the US and Chinese market anyway?

Here's the problem. India joined the WTO in 1995, while China only joined in 2001. So in terms of having a "free pass" with the US market, India had a 6-year headstart over China. So why didn't India ran ahead of China first? Why did US companies predominantly chose to manufacture in Communist China over Democratic India?

The Indian elites have never dared to ask what if India doesn't achieve its hesepotential. What if India's lack of success vs China is purely self-inflicted? Opportunities were there, and India's opportunities were actually much better than China. But India keeps missing opportunities and then blames others for it. Right now, India is on course to miss yet another opportunity. But this time, Automation and AI would eventually close the best windows of opportunities for India for good. After that, it's the middle income trap.

There is no difference between Indian elites and Indian online trolls. That sums up that whole country. It’s a country run by idiots for idiots. Very rarely do you see an Indian that is not batshit insane. Only Indian I can tolerate listening to is Vijay Prasad.

Damn, if nothing else some people have good timing and good feel for changing of wind direction.
Finland was one of those nations that should never have an issue with China. Prior to its joining of NATO, Finland was a reliable partner. Its full throated support of nato and the U.S. therefore makes Chinese continued investment into the country problematic especially since it needed to divest from Huawei as a condition for joining the U.S. and it needs Chinese investment badly. Unemployment is like 10%, the highest in the EU and this situation is not helped by importing Indians en masse.

I think it’s because someone else has to do it first and in this case it’s Canada. They were already on Trump’s bad side so they had nothing to lose. Starmer is going to China and I think the German Prime minister too. There’s definitely a shift in tone at least.

Here it’s correctly pointed out how the West has blocked China from buying Western services and products when they’re crying about China not buying from them.

Just cause India will never reach China's potential doesn't mean it will not become the 3rd largest economy. Its pretty much already there. No one thinks India will not grow from 4 trillion to 6 trillion and surpass Germany. Even if it takes 20 years, its certainly going to happen, all thanks India's extreme population and extemely low GDP per capita. Just little bit of urbanization alone will take India to 3rd largest economy.

Germany on the other is not going to grow much in the foreseeble future cause all its industries are going to be eaten by China. They cant move up the value chain and take away market share from US for things like software and AI. So, Germany is done.

Frankly I do get really worried about India because of its population. If they get even remotely good at modernization, they will pose a threat to China long term, just due to population heft.

I want China to take India more seriously, hobble it with all its might and hopefully break it into pieces. China seems too focused on US and the west, which in understandable. But India is the latent threat that must be taken out.
I don't take the Indian economy growth story seriously anymore. This is a nation known for scams and fixing it's own numbers. It's census have not even been updated since 2011. The IMF is starting to doubt India's numbers.

If you look away from the Jai Hinds in the fancy 5-star hotels, and onto the streets of Delhi, India just doesn't pass the eye test. I've been to China for the first time in 2007. And even back then, the streets of Kunming looks like heaven, compared to the hellish streets of Delhi in 2026.

India is an enemy nation to look out for, but not one to be feared. I just think that India is doing such a great job of self-destruction, that China could afford to watch and do nothing. Everything that India had thrown at China since 2020 have come back to bite it in the ass. All China needs to do now is to not help India. And then let the rest take care of itself.

You know it’s sad when Fallout Shitposter use your country as an example of why it’s not far fetched that American cities and settlements look like shit two hundred years after nuclear annihilation…

Next week Jai Hinds: India has escalation dominance over China because a post-nuclear-apocalypse radioactive wasteland might objectively be an upgrade for many Indians compared to their current living conditions, whereas those soft Chinese couldn’t even live without indoor toilets! In each and every apartment would you believe it! Hell, some apartments even have more than one!

Then it seems Ai Wei Wei was never a conniving hater. He was always just an actual moron.
Ai Wei Wei learned applying his criticism on Israel-Palestine got him cancelled and ostracized in West. In West, only criticism of China allowed. Ai Wei Wei is a grifter who didn't learn his lane and now crawling back to China since West threw him under the bus.
