Today's news that didn't age well:

Smug Americans (and self-hating Chinese): “Chinese nominal and PPP GDP may be high, but because of its large population, the country is still quite poor and cannot match the US in terms of wealth.”

Also same smug Americans: “Chinese population numbers are exaggerated! They actually have the same amount of people as America, or hell, maybe even less!”

So then I guess according to this numbskull, China has a massive economy, is massively industrialized and advanced, and accomplished all this with a relatively small population? The US is more screwed than I thought.

Trump says any country doing business with Iran will face 25% U.S. tariff​

President Donald Trump on Monday said any country doing business with Iran will face a 25% tariff “on any and all business being done with the United States of America.”

That new tariff on imports from Iran’s trading partners is “effective immediately,” Trump said in a Truth Social post.

“This Order is final and conclusive. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” he wrote.

Further details about the tariff announcement were not immediately clear. The White House did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for additional information.

The apparent effort by Trump to economically isolate Iran comes as the oil-rich Middle Eastern country struggles to suppress an ongoing swell of massive anti-government protests.

Dozens of those protesters have reportedly been killed in recent weeks; Trump has threatened to take military action against Iran if those killings continue.

The president has also explicitly encouraged the demonstrations against the Iranian regime. “Iran is looking at FREEDOM, perhaps like never before. The USA stands ready to help!!!” he wrote on social media on Saturday.

He did but he did do a follow up where he retracted and admitted he had been wrong as the cities started to fill up. I can respect that.

The problem is the mainstream media ran with the original ghost cities idea and phrase and never bothered to fact check or focused their cameras only on the existing still empty buildings rather than the ones that had filled up.

Clearly they haven’t learn about what the true definition of insanity is. Really every time they do this tariff crap, it has never ever worked out for them, why do they even bother, especially when a civil war is around the corner if they don’t sort out this ICE stupidity and how they thought they can shoot US citizens and expect literally no consequences. They keep on playing the same play book, it’s almost as though they lack the brains to think of anything new

I mean, US interest payment went up by $600 billion in just 4 years and currently going up at around $200 billion a year, an entirety of US defence spending being eaten away every 4 years and there's no ability to stop it because they're just using debt to pay that interest.

Once you realize the sheer magnitude of what they're dealing with, everything from taking over the Feds in a foolish belief it can stop debt from growing, to wanting to invade everyone, to the blatantly declaring intent to want to steal money, to the constant insistence countries are going to invest 10 years of GDP in the US, to all the tariffs, it all clicks into place.

America is literally fucked and they're in the casino betting everything on red.
