Latest industry projections put China’s combined strategic and commercial oil reserves at about 1.2-1.3 billion barrels. The stockpile comprises roughly 400 million barrels in petroleum reserves and 800 million barrels in commercial stocks. China’s total storage capacity has grown substantially and reached over 2 billion barrels by late 2024.
State oil companies Sinopec and CNOOC are building 11 new storage sites during 2025-2026

Is Bill framing the attack on Venezuela as to deter CN? Like the framing on help Ukr to deter CN?Bill Ackman probably doesn't know that only 4% of China's crude imports comes from Venezuela and most of Venezuela's oil reserves are difficult or even uneconomical to extract.
From Reuters:
This is lack of understanding after four years. Putin is very deceptive person. due to this personality its very hard to know all the objectives regarding Ukraine unless studied that Soft power. I posted link here when Putin told former Japanese PM Abe that he is not interested in improving lives of older people rather invest in creating new life and gave example of certain demographics.Maduro’s rapid capture & fall is simply an indicator of how thoroughly infiltrated Venezuela has always been. This could not have happened if his support among the military & intelligence establishments were not completely compromised. Even Saddan fared better in the sense that the US had to mount a full scale military campaign against Iraq to grab him, and not just go in with a dozen helicopters with zero operational opposition (outside of maybe a few personal body guards).
It’s what Russia wanted and wished it could do in Ukraine when it moved in with its special military operation to occupy Kiev. Except the Ukrainians were not actually compromised by Russian intelligence & their military shot back giving Russia a black eye and forcing it into a three years long war. Russia should have known it would’ve happened since their enemies in Ukraine were built up & well prepared after 2014 by the silent hand of the West.
To accomplish such a thing in a country requires decades if not centuries of infiltration both intelligence and ideological. To do it in Taiwan right now is not plausible - the DPP is too entrenched and Western & Japanese interests in Taiwanese society are well positioned to mobilize the local resistance. If you want to take Taiwan this way you’d need to get half the public on your side first, and most of the military. China just doesn’t have that kind of influence right now.

I hate to say it, vietnam pretty much copied China for their whole history. At one point they even copied Chinese mandarin and writing system. I think it was the French invasion when Vietnam decided to adopt a different approach, as they feel they are getting too close to China.based on the article Vietnam is doing the opposite. They are copying China, not because China made them, but because China has demonstrated the efficacy of the Chinese governance model. That's real soft power. I never want to fucking hear 1 more word about soft power anymore, I will just link this article forever.
Note that the US governance model has only been copied by force (Philippines) or by very low income countries with historical ties (Liberia).
That's exactly what's happening. Japan has a whole host of issues and everyone knows this, but at the same time, the Japanese government is unwilling and unable to do anything to fix them. Take the soaring rice prices as an example - it's the problem that affects people the most but becasue the ones who benefit from these prices are huge LDP backers, do you think that the government is going to change this? And so everyone fixates on blaming unrelated subjects for the problems and just attacks them instead.⇑⇑⇑
Maybe some Japaneses are living in a sh*t hole and they are using Chinese as punching bags to vent their frustrations.
I mean this is is the norm. Its not shocking.I hate to say it, vietnam pretty much copied China for their whole history. At one point they even copied Chinese mandarin and writing system. I think it was the French invasion when Vietnam decided to adopt a different approach, as they feel they are getting too close to China.
Natrually it is just how a civilization grow and develop. As much as they hate to admit it, I am willing to bet a vast majority of vietnamese ruling elites are probably ethnic han
Us annex green land, Europeans ditch USA, and immediately align with Russia. All of the sudden, you have a new world order in which the Jews and the Americans are at the bottom.
usa dont annex Greenland because there are enough great power to counter USA. During the unipolar moments, USA defacto annexed Greenland.
That would be a bad idea when the issue right now is the race for tech. A conflict would cost lives and resources. Even if successful in taking those places, they would become a big ball and chain in such a hypothetical scenario due to insurgency, and the fact they are less developed, meaning they will be an economic drag on the economy (unless you ignore them and leave them less developed but that could breed more resentment and fuel insurgency). Time and resources would need to be spent on developing them, which is time and resources diverted from taking the lead in technology. The incorporation of such areas would also put other neighboring countries even more on their guard and feed the narrative of China being expansionist and bent on world conquest. When that happens, the Chinese need to respond by liberating North Korea and Mongolia for its national security.
