Is the CEO of Anduril really so obtuse? It's like claiming that China would not deploy robots and apply automation on a large scale because it has a huge labor force. On the other hand, wishful thinking is not a tactic. Just because the US is hopelessly behind China in the development and manufacturing of drones doesn't mean China will not engage in drone warfare.

It shows their implicit racist assumptions and views that Chinese are expendable subhuman swarming insects or like Orcs from Lord of the Rings, and are treated as expendable chaff even by their own government. It also excuses any defeats by saying the other side “cheated” by just throwing human waves rather than “genuinely” winning through superior skill and technology. It is the same sort of sour grapes thinking used by the defeated Confederacy from the American Civil War, so that they could cling to the myth of being the superior soldier.

The idea China could overcome them in both quality and quantity is something unthinkable for them because it would mean admitting they were wrong about being superior.

It's just projection: western culture since Noah consider their own people disposable and they can't imagine anyone else thinking differently. Western culture is intrinsically incapable of valuing human life.

Also tech bros are getting the wrong lessons from the grinding war that is the Ukraine-Russo war. Just because the Russians and the Ukrainians are using a lot this:

That doesn´t mean that that the Russian stopped the development of their conventional army. In fact they are accelerating it.

It's also a logical fallacy, because drones used by both sides in Ukraine are all made in China, China only appears to talk less about FPVs because China already have, literally, ALL the FPVs.
