The project is being processed by the Defence Ministry at a time when Pakistan apparently tried to target the country during the Operation Sindoor in May this year. The plan to deploy the indigenous weapon system would be a big boost for homegrown defence systems as India had earlier planned to deploy the US-made National Advanced Surface to
Air Missile System-II (NASAMS-II).
The two sides had even started negotiations for the sale of the American system that protects the city of Washington DC and the White House there.
The Indian government did not move forward on the deal with the Americans as they were asking for a very high price, sources said.

Due to constant intrusion of unseen J H Mafioso and their bullying orders to air force IAF and anti craft batteries of army, both IAF and IA are incapable of fighting war professionally during the war. It causes uncalled for consequences which both forces has to face. In made them worse in 1 front war and what would happen in 2 or 2+ front war is beyond imaginations of defense observers.

Jaguar was pretty mediocre even when first introduced in the 1970s. So underpowered, the joke was that it needed help from the curvature of the Earth to get airborne. 20 years since UK and France got rid of theirs. Keeping them going until 2050(!) in a desperate attempt to maintain squadron numbers just screams "supapowa":

2050???? holy speechless,
"Got spares from Oman"
BRUH BRUHHH

The last new Jaguar to be built in India came off the HAL production line in 2008
Well atleast the frames arent that ancient, but man i wonder how much extra money they re burning to maintain this, I mean they even got Israeli Aesa radar for the ones that finished in 2008,

“The Jaguar is still useful as a strike aircraft, and has been kept relevant with upgrades to electronic warfare, nav-attack systems, standoff weapons, and so on,” Singh told TWZ.
This is just cope, I bet the hope was tejas would be being made in high enough numbers by now to replace jaguar but that didnt happen so...

Its even more funny when you consider those were the first AESA aircraft in the IAF's inventory...a ground attack Cold War relic, lol.
What the actual fuckkkk, its like giving pentium 1 motherboards ssds or ddr5 rams forcefully..
India got its su30s in mid 2000's and even they didnt have it..
Whoever is the planner for these things during that era or even now in IAF or their ministry gotta be somewhat high.
