There is someone said :

“No, it knew it wasn't going to make it, so it's designed to miss the target. Like the F9, if the landing burn were successful, it would make the course correction to smack and burn directly on the target.”
It come down on a parabolic trajectory obviously, it’s not pointing at the pad until the very last moment.

Everything thoughout much of the launch process had been going well. The payload was successfully sent to orbit, and the primary stage booster was pretty close to make a landing as well (indicating successful reentry and engine reignition) before blowing up at the last moment, and even the point of crash is just right next to the intended touchdown pad, which is pretty close.

I'd rate this ~80-90% success for its first attempt.

Hopefully ZQ-3 will have a successful 1st stage booster recovery like the Blue Glenn for its next (2nd) launch attempt.

Next up should be the CZ-12A - Let's hope this one is a success.

Any idea what payload was carried? Apart from CZ5, this is the largest Chinese LV, and can launch substantial payload.

Many congratulations to Landspace for the inaugural launch of the ZQ-3! Getting your payload to orbit on your first try is not an easy feat, and that is the reason we launch in the first place. This is a pretty big milestone for the Chinese commercial launch industry!

With regards to first stage recovery, we have a saying here in Greece, that more or less goes "the first child that the priest had to baptize...was burned by him heating the water too much". It is a process, that might take some time.

This is for reference...
