Japan has never really seen the horrors of real war. The two nuclear bombs dropped on them was only a fraction of the suffering they have caused throughout East Asia, and they have viewed it as a defeat to the U.S and not to the Chinese. In order to make war unattractive to them in the future, I believe China will have to defeat them unconditionally this time around, and fought on their soil if they choose to again go down this path of imperial ambitions.

The U.S have always used Japan as a bulwark against "communism," and later for U.S interests in the region after the 2nd world war, and in the process, denied the Chinese and Koreans the injustice committed by Japan, which is why many of these war criminals were released and rehabilitated into U.S proxies. Ideologies are nearly impossible to eradicate, but can be managed, similar to how nazism is managed in Germany today. In order to manage it, China will eventually have to dismantle Japan politically, similar to how the U.S dismantled imperial Japan.

I have always defended the U.S' decision to use the atomic bomb on Japan, and if necessary will also support and defend the Chinese decision to use nuclear weapons on Japan, if the Japanese decide to act on any imperial ambitions. They can be the first country to get nuked and the first country to get nuked again by another foreign power--that will be a great start to destroying their psychology for imperial wars.

If you forget that fact that the US stabbed China in the back by preventing China from recieving any repartions from Japan, don't forget Japan stole billions of dollars worth of tresures from China and not one of them has been returned. Don't forget the reason why Japan denies it warcrimes is because the US government denied themselves and to add insult to injury they rewrote history potraying Hirohito as an powerless innocent man when he clearly was in full control.

Yonaguni island. That is the same island the US also wants to station Marines as discussed in the other thread. The action that lead to the deterioration of the bilateral relationship increasingly appears to me as a coordinated action by the US and Japan. Their PM crossing the redline is no fluke but a deliberate action that is likely planned in Washington.

On a side note, Yonaguni island is about as big as the city of Pokorvsk and their current civilian population is only a couple thousand compared to the height of 12,000. Once Project Ukraine fully implodes in their face. They will attempt to salvage their reputation by starting Project Taiwan with the end goal of war with China.

I kinda miss when the US actually was intimidating back when "black projects" actually meant something. It was actually pretty scary when the B-2 and F-117 project existences were vehemently denied with a slight wink by the US government and then all of a sudden one day they appeared to the public and within a year were successfully causing havoc on US enemies. Nowadays, they don't have that aura and as a result of declining material power, they have to rely on an Indian-esque strategy of non-stop bluster and chest puffing. Kinda pathetic when considering where they were a few short decades ago.

Yea I totally miss when the F-117 bombed us in Iraq. That was so cool, man! Fast forward a few years later and me and the family were watching American Sniper. Brought back so many memories. I wish I could go back to when the US had aura.

I always found the though process behind stationing missiles on island close to Taiwan fascinating...

1 - If it's for defence against Chinese first strike, then that location will be taken out instantly without the ability to contribute.
2 - If it's for attack, then it can only get one shot off (and probably intercepted) before getting taken out and said island permanently added to Chinese territory.
3 - If it's for deterrence, see #1

So the only logic pathway to arriving at the conclusion that its a good idea to station missiles at place subjected to overwhelming threat and power mismatch is: they really do believe AR will consist of and only consist of fishing boats trying to storm beaches.

It’s part posturing, part deliberate provocation, but mostly down to a comically idiotic strategic assessment that AR will be just like the Ukraine war, only in the east this time.

Placing assets there only makes sense if they honestly think China will be as easily cowed as the Russians are, and will not dare to engage American and Japanese assets working as part of Taiwan’s kill chain against Chinese forces.

So their delusional thinking is that by parking long range sensors so close to Taiwan, they can basically become Taiwan’s untouchable early warning and off-board targeting platform able to actively scan PLA assets at point blank range to datalink targeting solutions to missile launchers in Taiwan and that China will be too scared to do anything about it.

If you stop thinking about it rationally and logically and actually approach it from the prospective of a moron who drinks western msm propaganda wholesale and actually believes that shit, then this looks like a real baller move. Way to stick it to Beijing!

Remember, Japan is a thoroughly compromised and mentally castrated nation who genuinely believes white is best and wishes with their whole Asian hearts to be white. To them, if white Europeans are reduced to slogging it out like it’s 1912 all over again, it’s inconceivable that any ‘genetically inferior yellow Asians’ can do any better. And what worked against the White Russians must by definition work 10 times better against the Chinese.

This, in addition to their deep unquenchable lust for Chinese lands and resources and their deep sense of injustice that the ‘inferior’ Chinese are so blessed with natural bounty while they are so starved of it, makes them feel that Chinese people don’t deserve China and somehow stole their rightful birthright to all the lands and riches of China (which also applies to all the rest of Asia). If that bullshit sounds familiar, it should, because it was this same perverted sense of cheated entitlement that fuelled their cruelty and savagery when they unleashed their unrepentant fascist hatred on their fellow Asians during WWII.

With that emotional baggage, if China was weak today, don’t any of you doubt for a second they would happily turn all of China into one giant Gaza if they could.

China invoking the enemy states clause isn’t China rules lawyering with some dusty old relic clauses. The Japanese themselves have kept those clauses alive and relevant all these years because they themselves have refused to own up to their crimes in WWII and would do it all again if given the chance.

That’s why the PLA modernisation for the last generation has really been about given China the tools and power to finally finish what the Americans abandoned in 1945 because it was more interested in using the Japanese to fight the Soviets instead of actually properly rehabilitating Japanese society. It’s exactly the same mentality at play when America released all those Uighur fighters from Guantanamo that were captured fighting for Bin Ladin in Afghanistan. America was satisfied that they presented no terrorist threats to American interests. They were still terrorists, but that was just fine and dandy if their terrorist targets were America’s enemies. America has never had any problems getting in bed with the worst monsters the world has ever seen just so long as those monsters were only interested in killing their enemies. This lack of moral fibre is why America itself is falling to fascism so easily today.

Okay. Obviously I meant it in a sarcastic and semi-ironic way so far as pointing out and snickering at the DECLINE of western military awe it represents on the global stage today. Insinuating that I am a proponent of unchecked American military might is disingenuous and flawed. China was also a victim of this time period when it had to just shut up and take it when her people were killed in the Belgrade bombing, which incidentally also relates to American claims that China "stole" F-117 plane parts from a crash. I get you might be emotional based on personal experience, but please chill with the passive aggressive insinuations.

This is really delusional, considering the average age of Japan's Self-Defense Forces is above 35.

To keep the upper hand in its rivalry with the US, China needs more industrial prowess.
