Japan continue to do the heavy lifting to prove China’s case that they have not learnt their lesson from WWII.

Expect China to continue to dial up the diplomatic heat to justify its economic sanctions against Japan.
Much as I am pissed-off at dai nippon, refreshingly at long last at least the masks are all off now and we can continue from here- the slow garroting of Japan must continue until its death and I do applaud China's measured, controlled, intelligent tactics using legal (UN charter etc) and economic strangulation to press Japan not a knee-jerk ,stupid response the westoids/japoids were hoping for.I hope this ends well....for China.

Japan seems to have lost its senses in anger—isn't this just jumping into the pit China dug? The issue at hand has nothing to do with Japan's national security, which only makes Japan's motives look increasingly shady. Japan is expected to face even more severe comprehensive sanctions from China.

The only resolution to the Japan question is to balkanize it completely. One of the reason why Japan still have not accepted their role in the atrocities in East Asia today is because they have always harbored the idea that there will be another opportunity to try and conquer all of East Asia. The U.S broke their military conquest in 1945, but did not break the ideological/psychological desire for conquest. The psychology for conquest must be broken, if China or any other East Asian nation is to ever have long term peace and stability in the region. The only way to break the psychological capacity of Japan is to defeat it completely this time around either in a planned economic collapse that will create social and political chaos through revolution/civil war, or by uncontested military means by China. Once their psychological capacity for conquest is broken, will Japan ultimately accept the role they played in history and have peace going forward.

After the Korean War ,the USA released virtually all the Japanese war criminals like Nobosuke Kishi(Monster of Showa-Manchukuo)-Shinzo Abe's grandfather-from Sugamo prison and simply reformed all of the IJA/IJN under innocuous new names under US aegis-is today's Takaichi any surprise? The old brutal, rapacious ,amoral ,rabidly vicious Japan has NEVER gone away only dormant like an infection waiting for today and not willing to let go of the last remnant against China-Taiwan.Even the recent hateful comments by a retired Japanese diplomat saying that " China needs to be subjugated and conquered by Japan but is too strong today and the opportunity will come when China is weak" speaks volumes about their heart-this psychology can't be changed only eradicated-an existential fight is coming led on by the USA which has no economic/political or even military cards to play against China-so Trump and his ilk released China's hateful and ancient enemy Japan to face us again-"delenda est Japan"-I don't see any other way.

I kinda miss when the US actually was intimidating back when "black projects" actually meant something. It was actually pretty scary when the B-2 and F-117 project existences were vehemently denied with a slight wink by the US government and then all of a sudden one day they appeared to the public and within a year were successfully causing havoc on US enemies. Nowadays, they don't have that aura and as a result of declining material power, they have to rely on an Indian-esque strategy of non-stop bluster and chest puffing. Kinda pathetic when considering where they were a few short decades ago.
The irony is that in the West, China is accused of perpetuating widespread propaganda about its weapons systems.

It seems the situation has completely reversed.

Really? Deterrence? More like targets.

I always found the though process behind stationing missiles on island close to Taiwan fascinating...

1 - If it's for defence against Chinese first strike, then that location will be taken out instantly without the ability to contribute.
2 - If it's for attack, then it can only get one shot off (and probably intercepted) before getting taken out and said island permanently added to Chinese territory.
3 - If it's for deterrence, see #1

So the only logic pathway to arriving at the conclusion that its a good idea to station missiles at place subjected to overwhelming threat and power mismatch is: they really do believe AR will consist of and only consist of fishing boats trying to storm beaches.

I don´t know what it is but there is these group of global clowns idiots in recent times that have given themselves the task just keep pushing buttons to see how close they can get to the fire without getting burn, how close they can get to provoke a total war. From clowns in the US with their sh*tty sanctions, the Europeans for example in the Nexperia case, to the right wingers in Japan and obviously separatists in Taiwan who looks like they have a death wish and want to see that island and its semiconductor industry destroyed to rubble from coast to coast.
