Sony Pictures probably made the proposal to them first. Rather doubtful PopMart is interested in making a film and looking for studios to make it. Especially an animated featured film. Not cheap.
China also could have said ,"All Chinese citizens in Japan will now be able to get a month's worth of potassium iodide pills free in case of incidental radiation exposure in Japan at all Chinese Consulates/embassy"
This is a nothing move. Japan literally wants no Chinese tourists. I don't think China can stop Japan's march towards militarism with moves like this. What they need to do to warn Japan is some kind of sanction that will hurt their economy and production capacity. They also need to make military moves by flying PLA Air force fighters around Japan and show that PLA Air force has the capability to gain Air Superiority over Japan.Play with fire, get burnt

Reminds me of . One of the China "experts" that fell for this, Magnus Fiskesjo, is a professor at Cornell.Just a hint — it helps to know the Chinese language when you are a China expert.

If you just look at the face of the guy next to him, you'd see it's not that the other leaders don't already understand the point he is making. He is just making a show of defiance. It's that they all already understand that any real moves towards autonomy and independence will result in a massive, perhaps even catastrophic price for the Japanese economy and polity to pay. They are hostages or puppets, but they're comfortable. That comfort would go away really effing fast if they try to free themselves. At least not all Japanese are stupid like its current PM. For Japan's sake they better listen to him.
If I remember correctly Taro Yamamoto is one of the anti-losing war crowd. He thinks the Imperial Army higher ups screwed Japanese (conveniently posing as "victims" to themselves, somehow, and avoiding responsibility as a monstrous society to thoroughly repent). He is also anti-China.At least not all Japanese are stupid like its current PM. For Japan's sake they better listen to him.
Ryukuans are not Japanese. They were independent with ties to China before being conquered by Japan. If I remember correctly Taro Yamamoto is one of the anti-losing war crowd. A bit off topic: I have surfed in Jnet for years now. The conclusion I have come to is that Japanese people have all flavors of brainrot and are twisted to a terrifying point. For example, some Japanese X accounts can have Palestine flag proudly in their handles, also remember the Japanese government wants to recognize Palestine? That's because the Japanese have totally forgiven themselves and they think they are the good people now. They really believe they are the victims of WW2 and that's why Chinese pointing out their monstrosities and War criminal shrines, War monuments, remembering Chinese losses and victories are so annoying. This is also why they somehow still dare to threaten to invade China in this day and age. They really think they somehow have the moral high ground. Terrifying people. A miniature of the "free world" in a sense.
The only Japanese people that have some historical clarity are Ryukyu people because they really have to live with American bases. Other Japanese? You can safely assume all of them are some flavor of history revisionists.
Very true. My bad. What I want to say is that they are under Japanese rule now.Ryukuans are not Japanese. They were independent with ties to China before being conquered by Japan.
