LightYear has just completed an even bigger stainless steel ellipsoidal propellant tank. This one has a diameter of 5m, making LightYear the first private company to be able to produce such a propellant tank.

LightYear has completed yet another 5m-diameter tank, this time a cylindrical tank with dome ends, making LightYear the first private company in China capable of producing this type of propellant tank with such a large diameter.

Shenzhou-20 crew formally handed the keys to the space station to the Shenzhou-21 crew. Shenzhou-20 crew will return to earth on the 5th.

Galactic Energy has successfully conducted a tethered ignition test of the 1st stage of the Pallas-1 reusable launch vehicle. The test was carried out onboard the HOS-1 platform at the Haiyang Oriental Spaceport. Maiden launch is next.

A prototype inflatable space module was recently tested at the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry. Developed jointly by several institutions, the module is intended to serve as an on-orbit manufacturing facility. The test verified the design of the inflatable module, with its performance parameters meeting all expectations, including airtightness, inflation/deflation control, etc.

In a move that comes as a surprise to no one, i-Space (a.k.a. Space Honor, Interstellar Glory, StarCraft Glory, Star Glory, Interstellar Glory Space Technology, Interplanetary Glory, Interplanetary Glory Space Technology, Interstellar Glory Aerospace Technology Group, Interstellar Space Technology Corporation Ltd, etc.) has delayed the maiden flight of Hyperbola-3 to the first half of 2026. If only the company could spend as much time on developing its rockets as it does inventing an endless stream of alternative names and trademarks for itself, it would be at the forefront of the industry.

Expected to be finished by end of 2026, the facility is located in Chengdu and will have a capacity for producing 20 rockets per year.

In the worst case, Shenzhou-22 & CZ-2F Y22 can be launched in under 9 days
(of course this wouldn't be an easy decision since the Shenzhou-21 crew would likely have to stay on the station for a year like the Soyuz-MS-22 one a few years ago, and the rotation planning of Tiangong would be delayed by 6 months, so it's likely a lot of assessment will be made before such a decision)

There is no urgency in term of supplies, and if there was, Tianzhou-10 and its CZ-7 Y11 launcher have completed their testing and could launch in under 3 months

Many are curious why China observed 3I/ATLAS so late? Are most China's sensors not close enough or not in proper track/direction? Or China is technologically falling behind in terms of outer space sensoring? Any ideas?
