Maybe it's the total cynic and conspiracy theorist in me but to me these newly announced nuclear tests aren't for the US arsenal -with its already advanced W88/Wxx series of sea/air/land warheads but could they be testing SKorean and especially Japanese warheads for the inevitable American rearming of these 2 vassals to fight China??US could also test their supe-fuze warhead timing systems but I see Trump giving Japan/SK free rein to attack China as now the PLA massive modernization has eroded the US navy/airforce edge to a point where China can't readily nor easily deterred over Taiwan and in West Pacific region.
Why not use supercomputer simulations as they’ve been doing since the 90s? Why actual testing now when AI is now a reality? I’ll bet there’s military AI which can simulate nuclear design and efficacy
It's late, but one more comment.
The internet bubble of the 1990's is very different from what we are seeing today.
The former was just a speculative bubble like the Dutch tulip thing. People threw money at the internet. Most turned out to be losers, but there were some big winners.
The latter is a different era, because this time, we already know who are the winners. The winners are the companies still going up in price.
That is the case because institutional money, retail investors, the same companies themselves NDVA and INTC, and the US government, they are all putting into the same Magnificent 7 and related stocks.
In other words, this is build the railroads, this is building the future, of AI where it will be everywhere intrusively whether we like it or not.
The previous era, people just were making bets. This time, these winning companies are building a new reality to the economy, which will be, AI style, shoved down our throats.
The only part that is the same, are the suckers.
The suckers lost money in 1990's. The suckers will be dominated by AI in our era.
Maybe I am still afraid of the coming neo-feudalism.

Except the 'railroads' that are being built (data centers w/ expensive chips) only last 3-4 years and cost an arm and a leg to set up, unlike the actual railroads of the past that lasted decades. Every company is building it's own separate railroad, and not all will end up winners. It is not sustainable.
Are you sure you are not exaggerxating a bit there. Just because Iran hasn’t continued to bomb the hell out of Israel without abandon doesn’t make them weak. Also given that the military is continuing its preparations right now and also given that Israel has been damaged quite extensively enough that it has huge difficulties trying to attack Iran again means that point for point, Israel has suffered worse.
Don’t let their continued genocide fool you into thinking they are strong. Also, I don’t see how Syria is a gain for Israel given that they cannot really make much use out of them to do anything productive since that place is now a mess, especially given Irans growing arsenals and now increasing air defenses mean that Israel simply cannot try the same attack without getting blasted into the ground in the process. Don’t forget just trying to defend Israel, the USA and the west has burnt through considerable resources doing so, so really I stand by my assessment that while Iran has suffered damage that amounts to a wake up call, Israel suffered worse in a sense that pulling off the same stunt will not be as easy as last time and also how it helped Iran realize that they need Allies in this fight.
