Romans thrived for centuries before they started mass import foriegners. Not saying there needs to be complete racial purity, but anyone you incorporate must be assimilated one at a time, in no world should they keep their identity. That goes out of window if you import them en mass, fail to convert them in time.
China imported barbarians in Tang dynasty, that ended them, until the barbarians are driven out. Bad example. Modern PRC dominated the barbarians and incoprorated them through total Han majority domination. It never would have worked out if Han was say 40% of the population, or 60-70%.
Not saying your must have X gene to be Han, but it was the accumulated centuries of slow conversion of identity. Absorption is the key word. And absorption can only happen with total domination and a vast majority culture.
They are importing hundreds of thousands of immigrants from India, Pakistan and recently Africa. If they were to accept a limited number of highly skilled workers from those regions, it would've been fine. But such numbers, and of low-skill workers at that, that is No Bueno.
You probably don't know what these people are like, I do. And let's just say, they are extremely incompatible with Japan. It is not about Religion or such. Most core values are universal: Islam, Christianity and Buddism basically agree on what is good and what is bad. The main problem is culture: an amalgamation of "traditions" and "mindset", a view on how one should live his/her life. That's where a VAAAASST difference exists.
Those people from the aforementionned regions will form communities on their own, especially with their numbers, interbreed and eventually outnumber the Japanese in Japan with their much higher fertility rates. If you thought Europe and US were bad, you'd be in for a nasty had Japan continued on the same trajectory.
In theory, importing south east asians should be fine but, I'll be blunt, everyone knows at this point that no one hates Asians more than their neighboring Asians. This is especially true for Japan, so consider me skeptical.
It seems, to me at least, that the Japanese will have to accept and adapt to a lower standard of living. What they previously attempted to do risked wiping out their civilization over time. Such is the fate of western Europe, unless a giga bloodbath occurs.
The Japanese's natural aversion to foreigners might've saved them, but we'll see. A dramatic drop in living standards might also push them into a neo-sengoku jidai. Old habits die hard after all, we've seen that recently with the assasination of Abe.
To me, it's very reasonable that Japan should definitely get directly militarily involved with Taiwan so that China will have a great reason to directly bomb Japan. In fact, I wish Japan would be even more reasonable and immediately launch a full scale invasion of China today so that they can be definitively defeated and annexed.
I think you misunderstand something essential. To be anti-foreigner is a completely different thing from being insular. To be insular is to be very ignorant of foreign ways and means. To not understand the methods they use to infiltrate, undermine, corrupt, or attack you. And hence to not understand how best to defend and counterattack. Someone who is insular tends to only understand the ways and means of those in the culture they grew up in. Japan and South Korea are very insular.
One can be both insular and anti-foreigner. Many Westerners are. Those ones typically resist foreign influence in futility and then lose like the MAGA types.
Then of course you can also be insular and pro-foreigner. Many libshit Chinese who have not traveled, lived, or worked in the West very much are. They do not really understand the West beyond flattering but incorrect generalizations, and so they aspire to, admire, or even worship it.
You can be worldly and pro-foreigner, like the libshits that have the money and time to travel extensively, live/study/work abroad, and understand the world abroad but still admire and worship the West. Usually because it's just a dressed up form of worshiping what they perceive as superior and looking down on what they perceive as inferior, rightly or wrongly. These types are likely to blow in the direction of the wind and change their orientation when they see the fortunes of the two groups have sufficiently reversed. I imagine a majority of Hong Kongers and Singaporeans fall into this category.
Lastly, you can be worldly and anti-foreigner. You have the time, upbringing, education, training, and/or resources to understand the foreigners and yet still understand they are your greatest adversary. You know their ways and means and how best to defend or counterattack. I suspect a reasonable proportion of key decision makers in CPC likely fall into this category.
