You think China cannot replicate Boeing parts if they wanted to? You underestimate China's copying ability :p Just cause they r respecting Boeing IP doesn't mean they will continue to, if push comes to shove.
Russia just put in place a law the US has where anyone can make airplane parts if the original supply isn't available. The state put in place a certification agency for these parts and Rosatom has been making them.

From what I understand a lot of secondary part suppliers already exist in China. The government just needs to fully unleash them.

Given it's not LFP, the answer is "easily". Oxygen feeds the combustion. The electrodes expand and contract during normal cycling so that can create micro-punctures or weakened seams. So you might not see any reaction upon first puncture because the seal is mostly intact. But then the air pressure changes in flight exacerbate its weakened or compromised condition until thermal runaway occurs. This happened to Boeing's onboard batteries before. This is why battery designs that are too tight are riskier. You want sufficient internal space to accommodate expansion and contraction of the electrodes.
