Look, I do agree with some of the other things you said about LKY and his politics, but these were absolutely not obvious at that time!!! This was in 1992 FFS!!! The height of western dominance and imperialism. It is an all-out western victory throughout the entire world and just 1 year after the complete US victory in the Gulf war followed by the dissolution of the USSR, there is literally not a greater time where the disparity between the west and the world were this big no matter in the fields of development, technology, economy, military or the belief in the western system. Iet me correct you. The height of Western dominance was in 1920s when Saudi were establishing relationship with United States. Russia not recovered post 1917. Post 1991 Russia still had nuclear parity and still opposing Saudis in Afghanistan and it was Russia military that put down Tajikistan civil war. There is reason Putin wanted to celebrate 1100 years of adoption of Islam during Covid. As these Muslims have played key role in Russian conquests of Central Asia all the way to Crimea from Ottomans. and it was these people who were on the ground when Crimea taken back. When real Muslims see that Muslim historic places not taken care by Ukraine that alone is reason for them to invade and this also answer the question why Russia is minimizing casualties because this gives opportunity to Royals for humanitarian work.
