What is funny is it seems there isn't a single shipping co with > 25% US ownership. DHT (A crude oil tanker company) just added a Norwegian to the board today to get the US board % under 25%
That's because you're not counting publicly trade shared listed in the US owned by American investors.

China set the number at 25% and not 50% for a reason, trying to play around with board seats is like Israelis trying to fool god by sacrificing goats.

Regarding the Nexperia debacle, ASML's subsidiaries in China are fair game?

"Shooting yourself in the foot" tweet of the day:

LMAO headline of the day - no need to waste your time on the article. Just read the headline and sub-headline, you will immediately realize that the coping and gaslighting are off the charts. Even if the result of China's investment in R&D is less optimal, it's still much better than waste 2 trillions on "wars of choice".

Translation: “Wahhh! Wahhhh!! Why won’t Chinese stay poor and undeveloped so I can keep killing and bullying them?!!! White supremacy uber allies!! Sieg heil!!”

not sure how true this is considering the source and analysis but if it hampers American attempts at industrialising and making war, that can only be to the good.

For all of China’s prowess in manufacturing and e-commerce in cities, and forestry and mining in the hinterland, China lags far behind in many high-value-added service sectors. Among the most prominent are healthcare and education, labor-intensive sectors that would soak up urban employment and provide services that would strengthen human capital.
Ah yes, China lags far behind America in the amount of profit generated from healthcare and education.

Is American healthcare and education truly worth learning from? If these industries, which protect the rights of ordinary people to survival and development, were truly commercialized like in the United States, China would follow the same path of America's failure.
A few years ago, China cracked down on tutoring classes because they were undermining educational equality for ordinary people. Educators, driven by a desire for greater income, deliberately neglected the quality of public education, encouraging more students to attend tutoring classes. If this trend continues, it will inevitably lead to the emergence of a series of elite schools, which will monopolize educational resources and exclude ordinary people. This will become like the situation in the United States, where public schools focus solely on providing enjoyable education, while private schools focus on cultivating elites, thus forming academic overlord. This will also solidify social classes, blocking the upward mobility of ordinary people.

China Detains Prominent Underground Pastor, Drawing Rebuke From U.S.
Ezra Jin has led one of China’s most vibrant church networks, spanning 40 cities; ‘They are afraid of my husband’s influence’
(Why is it "underground", why not register(?) and "vibrant church network", is this similar case to the HK priest guy?)
