Bigger news is announcement of secondary export control: foreign companies who wish to export to countries other than China any products containing Chinese materials or technology must obtain Chinese permission. i.e. A German company can't export electric motors containing Chinese magnets to the United States without a permit or they will lose magnet import permit.

Interesting that these hard hits from China is coming at a time when Trump has shutdown the government which means that Trump is going to be rather limited in his responses not to mention that these hits are extremely hard hitting. Timing is everything-and China knows it-as this US gov't shuts down and associated crises/anger is directed internally then China will strike when the blow is most telling-three thumbs up China-me not wanting war but the world has gone full batshit crazy and thankfully unlike 100 years ago ,China is an island of peace,prosperity and STRENGTH,not the center of the strorm with its country/people suffering so much evil.
