You know when you think about it, this should be a huge blow to anti-China crowd. Haven't they said you're not allowed to criticize the government and its decisions in China? Well they are doing it in plain sight. Instead of them acknowledging their mistakes, they instead focus on haha China is gonna get flooded with Indians. It really shows they don't actually care about whatever value they preach and just want to see China fail.

Now as the the K-Visa itself. Its not a bad idea in theory. China wants to get field medalists and noble prize tier people in China. The problem is the execution is poor. There is nothing like a clause saying few to no Indian or people from sketchy origins allowed. If there was, everything suddenly changes. This is a common occurrence with people like them. You have something that looks nice in theory relying on goodwill and then some asshole comes in to take advantage and ruins the whole thing. India talks about being China but if you think about it, a lot of things world in China has because people behave (somewhat) and there is a proper system to enforce compliance. People in China were poor and acted like jerks before but reform for most part worked. Meanwhile we see even rich educated Indians totally disregard rules because they feel it doesn't apply to them. Even those born and raised in the west do this and maybe they do it the most. So can you imagine what the rest of the country is like?

For example if this K-Visa just said we are asking highly talented experienced Chinese STEM professionals to come to China, no one would blink an eye much.

Most of the US tech talent is just cheap foreign labour using H1B and similar visas. US innovation has stagnated since companies started firing locals and replacing them with cheap foreign labour. It can cut cost and increase margins which boost stock price but the innovation will suffer. There is rampant fraud and abuse in the US visa system. US Senators are introducing Bills to reform the visa system. They now see the political backlash from unemployed Americans. When locals are struggling to find jobs and they see foreigners get jobs it will naturally cause anger and resentment. This is true in any country.

Taiwan will not agree to 50-50 chip production deal with US, negotiator says

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick told U.S. television network News Nation over the weekend that Washington's pitch to Taiwan would be a 50-50 split in making chips, the vast majority of which are now made on the island.
Taiwan Vice Premier Cheng Li-chiun, who is leading the tariff talks with Washington, told reporters upon getting back to the island that she had not discussed the 50-50 idea suggested by the U.S. during the talks.
"Our negotiating team has never made any commitment to a 50-50 split on chips. Rest assured, we did not discuss this issue during this round of talks, nor would we agree to such conditions," she said, according to Taiwan's official Central News Agency.

Apparently Bloomberg did a huge investigation on how H1B is scammed and yet it never went public.

I always had a feeling many Fintech firms were just scams. Turns out my intuition had some merit after all.

Modi must be kicking himself on why he had to do that stupid stunt back in May… The price of losing is too big.
