The Corps also contributes some Marine Aviation fixed-wing fighter/attack assets (aircraft squadrons and related aircraft maintenance augmentation units) as part of the Carrier Air Wings deployed aboard aircraft carriers.

. Navy aircraft carriers typically deploy with a Marine squadron alongside Navy squadrons.
True, but those Marine jets that operated from US navy aircraft carriers were F/A-18 and EA-6B. While the Marine's Harriers operated from LHA.

US Marines needed Aircraft carrier services because their F/A-18 and EA-6B simply cannot operate from an LHA. And those are in the old days before they acquire F-35B.

Time has changed. Marine F/A-18 and EA-6B have retired.

US military do many joint-service operations, it is not infrequent that their navy and marines work together.

This is outside this thread topic, so it ends here.

I guess the Chinese versions of CCA that debuted on the victory day parade would be aligned to 076 in the future?

I wonder if Chinese carriers will operate both fighters and CCAs or will it focus on manned planes alone and have a 076 in the battle group dedicated to CCAs
Again, no point for 076 to have LHD capabilities like marine vehicle storage and troop carrying capacity, if its just gonna act as a light carrier. So, I don't expect type 076 to focus on air superiority battle at all.

Carriers will focus on the air superiority and air defense mission, and thus will carry both CCA and manned fighters.

Type 076 will have drones that focus on ground aasault. So, GJ-21 could be a big component.

What about something similar to the escort carrier of WWII, but it will carry all CCA complements instead, leaving all the hangar space of regular carriers for manned fighters?

I'm wondering how much of a trade off it will be to have some of that space for CCAs at the expense of less manned fighters, and what would be the best ratio.

Btw I think we can possibly rule out China developing VTOL aircrafts. It seem they think a Type 076 kind of ship with catapult + arrestors and manned/unmanned aircraft complement is better than trying to VTOL from an LHD without.

This all thanks to a working electromagnetic catapult solution because steam cat is probably too bulky, maintenance intensive and steam hungry to be feasible on a 076 type of ship.

They fact that they installed the same cat for 076 as the Fujian instead of a shortened one tells us that they are committed to this approach.

STOVL is for landing not takeoff, 076 does not have the angled deck and heavy duty arresting gear for safe manned ops
