Its almost like you don't read...
I'm looking for more definitive rumours about this, like some new designation (Y-X?) or some details from popular chinese OSint specialists like Guancha? Maybe any info about Timelines?

This particular thread is kinda hard to follow when it comes to any new transporter rumours since its pretty much nothing but pictures for many pages.

Is china working on a bigger transporter similar to the c-5 galaxy range?

Could you please stop treating this forum as ChatGPT? Do some basic research first and demonstrate that you've put in a modicum of effort before asking for help. The information is there if only you could manage to find the search bar in the top right corner. And since your posting style is tiresome and irritating, here's some more general advice for you: increase operational control over your mouth; research before you think, and think before you speak. In other words, stop being a hyperactive nuisance.

You should know that the search bar doesn't work for small words. So, you search for let's say "y-20", it will simply say, too small word. Moreover, how would you even search for something for which you don't know the name. That's why I was asking if there is a designation for a successor to the Y-20 (Y-X?)

Normally, I usually don't pay attention to transport planes since they are not as sexy as weapons platforms. But I think large transporters are becoming more important as potential platform for Extremely long range AWACS, ECM and other force multiplier planes.

Moreover, there is a potential for use of large transporters as carriers and launchers of CCA drones in distant battlefields.

Finally, US is also developing transporters as potential long range mass missile carriers loaded as canisters, something China can start looking at as well.

A transporter might have enough fuel to go near CONUS and launch its missiles from the canisters. A capability that could be very useful for future deterrence.

So, overall, having large transporters are becoming much more important than just transporting troops.

The forum's search bar not accepting short terms does indeed hinder the retrieval of any valuable historical information from the forum.
THIS!!!

During my early days of researching I had to resort to using the Google search bar for short keywords like so: [subject] site:www.sinodefenceforum.com

The lack of a semi-decent search function within this forum is understandably problematic to a lot of newcomers and especially now that there's an increased influx of them.

Not too sure about using an LLM though.

as per AECC official Weibo account, with this new Engines aircraft speed , capacity and range have increased. so yeah Huge improvement over older D-30KP machine..

it is also cheap to produce this old clappered fan blades in comparison with wide chord/composite.
add that fuel economy is faily important to the transporter but not as much as the civilian airliner
