Anybody been watching Alien Earth? It's pretty good. Don't listen to the notorious shills out there with their contradictions. They didn't like Prometheus because they wanted "Alien". Now they're complaining Alien Earth is a copy of Alien. This one is going to make their brains explode because it mixes them both with new different dangerous aliens in the mix.
I don't remember if in the first movie the evil corporation was just Weyland then became Weyland/Yutani in later movies. I remember they added Yutani reflecting Japan's prominence because that's what good science fiction is suppose to do where it reflects what going on in the "now". And back then Japanese corporations were seen as bad so making it Weyland/Yutani made sense. Well in this one you find out that the world is controlled by five competing corporations and democracy is no longer.
There was some city where competing corporations go to meet and they had a building that looked like one in Shanghai. I don't know if that one was Shanghai or it was just some made up city where they blindly put a building looked like the one from Shanghai. But interesting from what I've read of the other corporations is none of them are Chinese. I have a feeling for a while "science fiction" in Hollywood will be avoiding reflecting China in any capacity despite its real prominence. Each direction they take would be like walking through a minefield for them.

I have read the wiki. Some notorious factions: United America(basically is US merge with Canada and all South America), Socialist faction is rule by German, Russia and remnants of China, Vietnam etc(lol). Five mega corporation is have 2 Chinese origin. And New China is in another planet. But all Chinese related is just some mentioned/gossips. But they still manage to including that those Chinese corporation all skill in spying and steal secret from another company(lol again). Yeah bois Chicom even 100 years later still a bunch of thief snakes. But still better than Wayland Yutani which is bunch of genocide maniacs depraved capitalist i guess.

It sounds like they might've changed it because the new corporation prominent in Alien Earth is called Prodigy which owns Siam City in Thailand and seems to own much of Southeast Asia. The CEO is a Caucasian boy genius. Not sure where Yutani territory is. I'm assuming in the Far East.
Prodigy base in New Siam which don't mentioned exact location. The Weyland Yutani main base is in Tokyo and London which now belong to Three World Empire. A merge between British and Japan.
