What I'm more interested is what the actual relation between WS-10C2 and WS-10C
View attachment 159644
C2 does not have the iconic annular ring inside the nozzle that every single WS-10 variant had before. What makes us so sure that this is actually a WS-10 at all.
The ring of slits just behind the petals, which is the hallmark trait of the WS-10 family, not the ejector nozzle.

Plus, your statement is false. WS-10D/B-3 has a convergent-divergent nozzle (without the inner ring). Likely the same thing going on here.

Actually a stealth aircraft with strong EW is desirable. You can sneak in close enough without being detected, and then out of sudden the enemy's aircraft sansors all become useless when the your EW gear is switched on. WIth their sensor become useless they cannot detect you.

The next event would be your comrades' task to launch AAM attack to destroy these blinded enemy.

To avoid radar reflection from the EW pods, they can be stored in the internal weapon bay, and extended downward before they are activated. You would need to redesign the mechanism (like an extension arm for PL-10) inside the IWB to extend and retract the EW pod, and also a new EW pod design.

The question is can they design an EW pod to be fitted inside the IWB? J16D can carry up to 4 or 5 EW pods, J20 probably would carry less pods inside the IWB thus may not be as powerful in EW power as in J16D.

I am not saying it is impossible but using a VLO aircraft for dedicated EW is a luxury. Even if it has no extra pods, EW itself is an activity that is very detectable. If it has pods then its RCS would be hit by that.
Maybe J-20 airframe is cheaper than J-16 now or maybe Shenyang Avic might be shutting down flanker production to make J-35s? J-20 not being VLO anymore might not matter as long as it's a heavy fighter that can do EW for a decent price.
