Compare with the Saturn V. Which worked right first time and every time. This was the ninth flight.
I don't understand the reasons for disparaging SpaceX. Starship is a much more complex, comprehensive, and ambitious project than the Saturn V, and you know that. Just because SpaceX is SpaceX shouldn't be a reason to disparage it, because what they've already done for the aerospace industry is already history, while everyone else is still trying to do what they did 10 years ago.

They could have avoided this by building the necessary test stands. Instead they just blew up rockets.

For Saturn V each engine was tested twice separately, and then put into the vehicle and tested again. They tested the whole stage on the ground.
This allows you to catch mistakes faster and cheaper. You can inspect the stage after each test, instead of its cindered crashed remains.

SpaceX has no excuse. Especially because for Falcon 9 they DID build the test stands.

They only are getting this far with Starship because of deep pockets.

one guy got a head start on a task, find the solution by brute force and became the first.

others started later and doing it methodologically.

Achivement is undisputable, but the first guy is always an idiot. Just like a super computer can solve as proplem by brute force faster than a phD but nobody is going to praise the computer.
