It's true. For example Lukashenko is invited since Belrus was part of the Soviet Union. By that logic Zelensky and the Baltic states should also get an invite but even if they did get an invite they obviously won't come.
Kim is really a pretty unique case in this regard. Even if he was an ordinary North Korean citizen he would still get an invite on account of his grandfather being an high raking officer in the Northeast Counter-Japanese United Army who fought against Kwantung Army. That he's a Head of State and close ally of China is bonus. If you're a Chinese person and your grandfather was that involved in fighting against Imperial Japan back in the day you'll also get a front row seat next week at the parade.

I share in this sentiment as well. I don't comment on the military side of this forum very much (more sticking to the space, economy, and general news areas, but I do browse the military and defense sections) but I can't wait to see all these systems displayed at the parade.It is true that all military parades are - at some extent - performative. Some may even argue that having a great performance is the whole idea for something like this.
You are going to see all arguments - most of them uninformed, biased or about the actual state of PLA assets, capabilities etc. At the end of the day though the whole idea of having a strong military for a country like China is to...not ever get forced to use it. That is what deterrence means.
Public posturing by states, experts or idiots on the internet is completely worthless. Same goes for posturing by China fanboys too btw and we have quite a lot of that in this forum, as expected of course. But at the end of the day, it is a fact that those that have to know, will get the message.
Some have even started to complain about it too, too much work 'n' all...case in point..
What I'm trying to say is that instead of getting offended by every idiot on the internet, relax, and enjoy the coming celebration.
That being said, this feels like a "see I told you so" moment for me personally, I've been talking to people in the West, both just casual observers and experts, that didn't seem to believe China had advanced systems, since about 2017.
Either way, I agree, we should just observe the parade, appreciate all the systems that come out of it, and just ignore those who wish to hate.
