They're showing off the most advanced carrier-based AWACS plane, the most advanced carrier-based EW plane, the most advanced fifth generation plane, the only two-seater fifth generation plane in the world, and two brand new fifth generation models! I think that you're just spoiled by all the other goodies. This is astonishing stuff, but the impact is lessened because we've known about these planes for some time now.After seeing all the missiles and uav, China's manned air force advances shown in the parade look underwhelming in comparison. Nothing truly ground breaking stuff that is so cutting edge that no one else has it. Manned Air force stuff is mostly catching up to US.
Hopefully they get WS-15 and WS-19 on J-20 and J-35 ASAP, IMO it's basically the only downer compared to US 5th gen.They're showing off the most advanced carrier-based AWACS plane, the most advanced carrier-based EW plane, the most advanced fifth generation plane, the only two-seater fifth generation plane in the world, and two brand new fifth generation models! HQ-29 can hit satellite but it is an expensive option since Starlink or satellite constellations are expendable.
Biggest game changer will be ICBM interception capability. ASAT is easy. Let's hope it has ICBM interceptionHQ-29' targets are mainly expensive high-end military satellites instead of cheap/expendable comm satellites like Starlink. It's basically a tit-for-tat against Trump's Golden Dome program.
Examples:
1) US BM defense satellites, including current SBIRS for early-warning & future bigger Golden-Dome;
2) US spy satellites, including well-known Key Hole series.
We know quite a bit of stuff that isn't shown this year that *already* exists. No doubt in 4 years the stuff that isn't shown this year and all the new stuff that enters service in the next 4 years will probably be shown.Do you think for the 2029 parade is China going show us new weapons we have not seen yet that they already showing for the 2025 parade
I feel China's innovation rate is going faster and faster. So, China will likely show some really advanced stuff in 2029 as well. However, China will likely not show much in the manned air craft segment, since 6th gen will likely not be ready to be in service by then. I would say the most cool stuff will likely happen outside the Parade. Things like New Naval Ships, Submarines, Carriers and On the Air Force side, the reveal of H-20.Do you think for the 2029 parade is China going show us new weapons we have not seen yet that they already showing for the 2025 parade
I wouldn't discount the 2029 manned aircraft segment that quickly. The 6th gen fighters probably wouldn't be in service yet, but the stuff that should be ready is still pretty impressive. J-20s and J-35s with new engines, KJ-700, and KJ-3000 should all be in service by then, and that's not counting any stuff that we didn't know about yet. Back four years ago, we didn't know about the J-15T and J-15DT, the J-35s, and so on. And of these, the AWACS planes are basically world beaters - the E-7 is the next best, but I don't think it's in the same class of capability.I feel China's innovation rate is going faster and faster. So, lots of things to look forward to.
