Yankee: The YJ-18C has been put into previous large-scale training. YJ-18C is called C because it will replace the 18B which has been in production for nearly 10 years but has never been made public.

wow
If I remember correctly, YJ-18B is a submarine-launched version, so it is highly confidential? Does that mean the 18C also has submarine-launched capabilities?

I'm very doubtful that all of these systems are in service or even in evaluation.

We would've seen all of these CCAs in flight testing if they were indeed in service. You're not going to convince me that these 6 new airframes managed to complete all stages of flight and evaluation trials whilst bypassing the prying eyes of civilian cameras and social media.

Even when it comes to the armored vehicles, it is doubtful that the new tank and IFVs have entered service when there has been little to no photos of them prior to the parade rehearsals.

It's probably just a rehash of the GJ-11 saga.
China actually has a lot of test sites in deserts and mountains that are away from the eyes. From the recent WZ-X saga we know they can keep even huge aircraft secret. I am increasingly convinced that a lot of the initial testing for sixth gens were done in secret on sub-scale models and testbed aircraft. Both for secrecy and cost effectiveness... And they wanted us to see the flight of first prototypes.

wow
So both the YJ-18B and YJ-18C have Klub roots? Also, are both the B and C for long-range land attack similar to TLAM?

I mean the C version just look like an elongated KF-98 ALCM with TLAM-like wings and fins.

Oh wow it actually is called CJ-1000, it wasn't just a made up name by Shilao and co. They joked that some of those numbering on new stuff has wacky logic and suggested future names like DF-10000, then followed by an overflow and the generation after that being called DF-3.
There is a problem with Cruise missile naming. Sometimes they name it CJ-100, sometimes its Df-100. Same problem with CJ-10 and DF-10. Its confusing

That is what I thought too, but perhaps YJ-18B is actually a subsonic long range version of YJ-18 but with a conventional/Tomahawk/DF-10/Kalibr esque appearance.
YJ-18C replacing "YJ-18B" would make sense if that was the case...
