One thing from the podcast was their said there was one truck with two really boxy launchers. If that thing reminds you of DF-100/CJ-100 from the 2019 parade then you are on the right track, they are related. They liken it to the same concept but developed with latest technology and nick named it "DF-1000/CJ-1000".
They said whatever is showcased isn't the full lineup nor is the latest product
Wasn’t there some recent speculation or academic papers about hypersonic (scramjet) AAMs and SAMs?Overall the sentiment should be that HCMs seem to be something the PLA consider mature and proliferated across a wide variety of launch platforms and "sizes".
I suppose the nuances of their range, speed and altitude/flight profile will be the things to consider going forwards, but all in all it seems hypersonic cruise missiles with scramjets is something that can be ticked off as not only a mature piece of tech but also as a fielded series of systems in operation.
like the bicone and HGV. DF-21D/DF-17 achieved a technological breakthrough, and then on this basis, it was enlarged or reduced size and appeared on various carriers.Overall the sentiment should be that HCMs seem to be something the PLA consider mature and proliferated across a wide variety of launch platforms and "sizes".

The Ukrainian crews who faced it also said it flies in a very similar way to the Iskander from their perspective. It is detected a bit later because of its flatter trajectory, and is a bit faster, but that's about it.Cute orca said Zircon was "trash" that is completely incomparable to YJ19![]()
Re YJ-19, presumably there is a minimum range requirement for the scramjet to start working, and any target within this range would need to be engaged by e.g. torpedoes instead?
Depending on how maneuverable, it could maybe do a big U-turn in mid-air? Or some other moves?Re YJ-19, presumably there is a minimum range requirement for the scramjet to start working, and any target within this range would need to be engaged by e.g. torpedoes instead?
