According to @sugar_wsnbn on Twitter, apparently there is a video of a new type/model of ASBM? However, I couldn't find any video pertaining said ASBM, and there have been no details which I could find regarding said ASBM on Chinese socmed.

Anyone has any idea/intel on the matter?

Has anyone ever heard of those numbers before?

17 is clearly a glider, which has some pretty big implications for a radar-guided weapon. 15 looks conventional. 20 might be the BM? Is 19 might be a scramjet?

Only 20 was rumored to exist before now, 15 should be 12 replacement. I assume YJ-15 will be carried by smaller vessels like 054A/B/next gen frigate as well via canisters as was the case with its predecessor the YJ-12.

The YJ-12 is a very large AShM and only carried by the modded Sovs, Type 051B mod etc. You may be thinking of the YJ-83 series, which is a lot smaller.

The YJ-20 resembles the missile launched from 055 before, often referred to as YJ-21. I'm inclined to believe these new designs will primarily broaden PLAN capability for VLS ordnance, though obviously canister-versions are plausible for combatants not capable of supporting them in VLS.

YJ-15 doesn't seem to be a VLS missile.

Safe to say this rewrites the calculus of ASuW & PLAN-US fleet engagements imo. The capability uplift these provide over YJ-18+12 is pretty hard to overstate. (Even the YJ-19/20 alone, the YJ-17 looks like it may be intended for SSNs.)

PLAN is still weak in air defense missiles from the VLS compared to US. They only have HQ-9. US has SM-2,3,6 and quad packed ESSM.

Well, we know atleast one naval anti air missile is getting revealed soon. PLAN is only lacking in quadpack missiles now.

Is the PLAN actually looking to turn their ships into ASuW missile carriers, and use airwings to provide aircover + recon? if these missiles have a good range then I think it may actually work.
